Question CRT color

Just drove another SS w/Hurst shifter with the wife yesterday. Afterwards, I asked sales guy about CRT availability. CRT does not currently show on Chevys web site. At his kiosk cOmputer only Ashen grey is listed as new. What gives? Where is this Info. Coming from? Would like to order in 2-3 months. I really like the CRT. Hope it really is available then.

That's a very good question. I mean I have seen them on other cars like the caddie and volt recently. So crystal red is currently in production. My
guess is that they are still setting it up that color for production in Canada
for the camaro's. But untill its up and running and been tested enough, the annuncement of its official introduction is on hold. I'm hoping before the end of the year we will see it as available on the order sheet.

In the sun, they are similar. In the shade, the difference is as clear as day.

Just a regular guy posted the information... no inside contacts. If you have something to share post it up and it will be discussed... GM folks will pop in from time to time and verify facts and figures etc but most everything comes from the regular Peeps...

Welcome to C5..

x2...

Not trying to knock the CRT, the RJT to me is just a nicer shade...
In the dark, and in the light both...
CRT... the hue shifts.......
simply too much for my taste....
I could imagine the nightmare a painter would face trying to blend the metallic particles if the CRT vehicle was ever in a accident and had to have a fender replaced....

BUT.... while I have seen CRT in person (by my fotos) I would be willing to bet the Camaro in CRT will look very very nice....
IE, I think the color will look its best on the Camaro...
But then again I am biased towards Camaros....

now that I come back and look at this, after seeing both colors in person, and looking at tons of pictures.

I see that CRT and RJT in direct sunlight, are pretty much the same, but in the shade or cloud cover, CRT is lighter than RJT.

I wanted CRT but only having RJT camaros to look at online made me worry that it would be too dark. If you look at the shaded pictures, CRT is a couple shades lighter, just enough IMO.
But both are still amazing in sunlight

I agree the CRT then the Jewel, although I have not seen a CRT camaro in person. But I have seen the caddies in person and when the sunlight hits that paint, it's a pretty sweet looking paint finish. For me personally it just has more depth to it then like the Victory red which looks kinds flat in appearance.
Nice color overall.

My thoughts exactly. I spent a lot of time looking at both colors both in pictures and in person. The Victory Red just had too much orange in it at times but the CRT was always red. I know it is a matter of personal choice but the CRT color is closer a a Candy Red than RJT and will make the Camaro really stand out especially in the sun.

Metallic paint jobs look pretty sweet, but should the finish get damaged, it takes a real PRO to get it right again! Life comes @ you FAST! I figured that Victory Red shouldn't be too tough should the unthinkable happen. I had a Glacier White Pearl Metallic paint job on my 3000GT VR-4 & it was stunning day & night. I was lucky for 13 years & it had the benefit of a climate controlled garage when I wasn't driving it. I had a brand spankin' new, Maroon Metallic '82 Z28 when I lived at an apartment complex. On the 4th night of ownership, some @$$klown keyed the paint on both sides. MAJOR SUCKAGE!
