Sorry about the spelling...Sean...lol!
I was on the phone with her when you replied back. SSOOCH...I was told I was #12 of 12 when I ordered, but you said something about one cancellation so whether I am 11 or 12 I am not sure. I would be nice to think that I might actually get an order submitted. I just don't see it happening until all the problems with CAW and GM settle down. Faith is wavering... |

I am in the same boat, I preordered mine from Camaro Scotty and It's even harder knowing I can get a 2010 GT for the same price as my 2LT... and have it built and to me in 1 month... I start to think that if I get told my order is November again I am just going to cancel. GET ME OFF OF THIS LEDGE!

After reading this post last night, I just couldn't take it anymore and resigned myself to the fact that I just might not get my car...and being a girl, I got emotional.
NVMY68SS... Well, what the hell have we got to be happy about at this point? Let's see. 1. GM's going to go bankrupt. We just don't know which Chapter yet. 2. Alot of us really want this car, but because they couldn't get production right off the start, we're stuck in a GD 8 week holding pattern just because our names aren't Hendrick, Gordon, Stewart or Dr. Phil. 3. We may never get the cars that are sitting there depending on how it's ruled. 4. GM totally F'd up this whole process and they don't know how to fix it. 5. How do you do testing around the world in hot, cold, dry, wet, climates and build 700+ CTF cars but you can't get the first 3000 out of the plant right and you ship them to another facility for repair, I mean retrofit. Flame all you want, call me a whiner, whatever. I've been waiting for this car just like everyone else and forgive me for WANTING something that I've put a deposit down 7 friggin months (it was actually a lot longer) ago and nobody within a company the size of GM can tell you what the status of a car that's been built for 8 weeks is. I hope they do go bankrupt after all the BS we've had to sit back and watch as people who don't even give a shit about this car except that it's the "in thing" right now can walk in and drive out in while the enthusiasts who willingly gave their money just sit and wait. __________________ |

And after watching the press conference today about closing 30% of the dealerships how many more of us are going to be screwed? How much longer do I need to wait to get the car I put a down payment on? I am having a really tough time here!

I would not be so discouraged. GM and the CAW have come to terms and a vote is taking place on the 26th. GM is not filing to shut down they are simply using it to deal with creditors. The Camaro is one of the safest cars that GM makes. They have invested hundereds of millions of dollars on the car and it is the hottest car in their company. The US and Canadian governments are loaning billions to GM to keep them alive so it is clear they will survive. The closure of dealers and other downsizing is actually great news. GM has 3.5 times the dealers as Toyota who by the way sells more cars per year the past two years.
You will all get your car just hang in there. If GM would not have take preorders then none of us would have been sitting around waiting since November. We would have ordered in April and gotten our cars a couple of months later so don't take these delays as signs of failure. |

Well as an update - I canceled my order and called up LHM ford and ordered a 2010 GT Kona Blue, with a Glass roof, Track Pack and such - and because I am on the xplan got it for as much as my v6 camaro was going to cost me! I still love the camaro it's fantastic! A lot of people tried to talk me out of buying American, and I just felt like I had to do it because of what our country is going through right now! In the end it was a better fit for me, enjoy your sweet rides kiddies!

Sorry to hear that Vole, but congrats on getting such a good deal on the GT.
My order finally got submitted this last week. Now just a couple of months to go. I won't ever submit myself to a process like this again but I know this car is going to be worth it. |
