i have noticed this problem in my car as well. but only happens when i shift to second in high rpms. in fact, i nearly died of embarassment when i race a scion tc recently. launched from a red light and left him obviously, but when going in to second the grind was awful and even though i burned the gay little tc, the fact that he was laughing at my grind was worse than if i had lost to him :'(

They ordered the parts today. Depends on where they come from I may have them installed next week. I will post if it clears it up. But in the meantime, bring your car in. They are acknowledging the problem now if you dealer will acknowledge the grinding noise and calls GM.
IMHO all you see below.

Yep they did that on mine here is how they fixed it (Watch for second gear pop half way through the video). I had to fight with them to fix it properly the third time the car is still in the garage as I choose not to drive the piece of Sh*t. GM sucks! If you do not trust me ask other ppl like ponbigi he had a similar issue.

The next time you will have an issue trust me they will blame you .. I am not the only one that has had issues with GM engineering and customer service.
PS : They are not acknowledging the problem. IMHO Changing the syncro is like trying to fix a hole in the Hoover dam by super gluing it.
Sorry to be like this but i have heard it for too many times that GM is acknoledging the problem or that they have a fix. If the problem is know a TSB should be made otherwise is nothing but the same old BS.

Dude I am on this forum more often than GM customer service and I work two jobs 7 days a week 12 /hours a day minimum.
That should put into perspective just how good their warranty and service really is. Should I mention that I will call them on each of their bluffs / BS strategies.

i totally agree!..on a different note,it is possible, the tranny is NOT being built
"exactly" to the general's engineering "specs",and chevy's keepin' it "quiet" until
they can get it "right" with aisin. with all these 'complaints, the "general" cannot assume problems are being encountered as a result of people NOT knowing how to drive "stick",but there is an inherent problem with the transmission itself. it reminds me of the saying,"if 10 men,and not 1 man is saying you are drunk, then you had better lie down!"

Well today I gave up. After having the car in several times, the prssure plate bolts were loose again. This time they said they were going to replace the pressure plate, clutch disk and bolts. My guess is that the car has been driven so much with the bolts loose that the holes in the flywheel are enlarged, they don't think that's a problem. Anyway, I traded it in and am now driving a 2011 Ford F-150, so I probably won't be hanging around here much anymore. The car looked great, drove great, just didn't run great. Friends at work said "that's what you get for buying American, you should have bought Japanese", then I tell them that the worst part of my American car was the Japanese built transmission. You guys have fun and the best of luck with your tranny issues.

Yeah I am waiting for it to start up again. The grinding stopped from a constant to nothing and now starting back up again. Not sure how i want to handle it this time
