new 24s, spacera,extended studs shaky steering wheel..help

If your just gonna have rude comments don't waste the time posting

I ordered 24s, talked to several people that have 24s on there camaro so i got 255/30/24 tires up front 24x9 wheels, put them.on and they slightly rubbed the bottom.of the strut. So I bought 7mm spacers, longer GM oem studs that most people are running with spacers. Got it all together and took it for a spin and I'm gettin a shake in the steering wheel at 40mph haven't taken it.over 60mph. Parked it until I fix the issue...anyone got any ideas?

Did you get the alignment done after installing the wheels? I'm not positive but that seems like something you would need to do when installing larger wheels, especially 24's. Also, POST SOME PICS!

Had a similar issue recently with my 20's wheels were not centering properly due to incorrect hubs rings and lugs bottoming out. Are you using extended thread lugs with the longer studs? If not the lugs will bottom out and not hold the torque. Also let us know what brand of wheels tires. Good luck I spent the last 2 months chasing down a similar issue and it can be frustrating

The front appear to be sitting very close to the fenders is there any contact with the spring perch also are you using hub rings? I think the issue may be in the spacer/hub rings. If not it could be a bad tire or wheels. Did you have the balance/ road force checked?

nope no contact with anything, i ended up using a spacer because they were slightly rubbing on the bottom of the strut plate. The place i ordered them from balanced them i dunno how good lol but they have weights on them. i bought universal spacers from NAPA which i wanted to order ones that had just my bolt pattern on them but couldnt find any with the spacing i needed. No not using hub rings which i think that could be the issue after looking over my wheel order

ECOFFSET 24x9 - +20 (SHAVE OFF 5mm)

This was in my order info they emailed me, i found hub rings from 8.00-40.00. summit has some and justforwheels.com has them for 35.00

but i think the spacer not being exactly for my car or the bore of the hub may be the issue. any one agree?

put the stocks back on just the front with no spacers and used the lugs from my 24s because they are open and the stocks ones bottom out against the cheap GM cap. got it up to 70mph goin slowly through 30-40-50-60 and its straight as a board no shakin at all so either my 24's got a shitty balance job or its the spacers got some more pics im ordering hub rings right now!

got a appointment monday to get my 24s thrown on the balance machine to make sure they are on point. Anyone know a place to get spacers for our lug pattern? i found some on ebay that are 8mm spacers and are 5X120 but they are for a BMW and i dunno the bore on the spacer.

Make sure they're road force balanced.

Then, if you have to use spacers, get some custom spacers made with hub rings built in. You also want to make sure your lug nuts are tightened with a torque wrench to spec. After doing both of those things, my car runs perfectly, doesn't shake all the way up to 80mph.

I have 275/25/24s on mine. Didn't need spacers or anything. No shaking at all after they were balanced. Rides like stock. Maybe that tire is too tall?
