You will like over 405 RWHP on a car that had only the VARARAM on it.

No question 405rwhp vararam only is awfully good. However, I want to see the increase on the same dyno w/ corrected numbers. Some dyno`s read high some low. Case in point. I did heads and cam on my old 96 TA a while back and then went to a dyno dynamics dyno made 403rwhp corrected, same day, later that day went to a dynojet dyno made 390rwhp corrected. Did this because, some friends thought the Dyno Dynamics was reading high, and didn`t believe my number, being an automatic LT1 stock bottom end through a stall, most were making around 360rwhp at the time in an auto heads and cam LT1. Turned out the dyno dynamics dyno was high by 13rwhp in comparrison or the dynojet was reading 13rwhp low either way you can`t dyno on one then do mods and go to another and expect people to beleive the gain, especially if its way outside what is usually feasable. Although the same type of dyno w/ corrected numbers is generally accepted by most.

The vararam unit for the G8 is known to create alot of turbulance before the MAF sensor, creating tunning issues. Dialing in the MAF transfer is crucial to achieving targeted AF ratios especially when running MAF only which is very common.

Does anybody know if that will be an issue with this unit as well. Can the tuner comment or post a log so we can see it for ourselfs? Thanks

Here is a good thread on smoothing the MAF transfer, it also touches on the problem with the vararam unit on the G8

Yup, I read the whole thing. Turbulence based on the design of the intake around the MAF sensor definitely affects it's reading. I'm not being negative though, I can't wait for the vararam to come out. I was really just wondering if it was tricky to tune this thing in or not. To me it looks like it will be the best intake available and I'm waiting patiently fir their final results and the release

From the horse's mouth!!!

Neighhhhhhh! Whinneyyyyy! Or whatever noise it is a horse makes!!!! The unit is being "cast' for production units as I write this! Patrick is designing a hopefully cool logo for the unit. The web guy should have a huge writeup with all kinds of techie info from Patrick on our website soon! So far we are extremely pleased with results and performance! Green Filter is producing the filter for the unit as they do for all our products! I hope to start contacting via PM the preorder list shortly after the mold arrives back here and we start production! Realistically this will be late October -early November!I know some of the guys up north may be soon putting their cars up for the winter but hopefully the weather will hold off! Sorry we have been a little quiet on the forum but lots of testing and preparation has gone into making sure that the unit we ship is high quality and great performing!!! For all you guys on the preorder list I am going to send a "FREE" filter cleaning kit with your unit to kinda thank you for being so patient (even if you're not I'll send ya one!!)
Thanks
Steve
