I think I'm in the $40-45k range for a fully optioned coupe. I will not pay over MSRP for anything. The dealers can kiss my ass and I'll go buy something else. I plan on doing my own Car & Driver evaluation of the Camaro, the Shelby, and the Challenger when the time comes. I plan on keeping whatever I get for life, so I plan on making my decision very carefully and ordering my car exactly the way I want it.

Welcome aboard! Stroll over to the "introduce yourself here" thread (it is a sticky at the top of this forum) and give a shout out.

It certainly looks like the $32k price bracket is most people's upper limit... I just hope and prey that Chevy can keep it there utherwise it looks liek there will be some dissatisfied customers :(

Poll: How much are you willing to spend...

I have re-listed the "what will be your cut-off" thread as a poll as it has become difficult to keep track of the ideal price people would like for the Camaro.

Please select your UPPER limit. If your Ideal price, for example, is $30k, but you would be willing to drop $33k reluctantly, then choose the $33k price range.

Also, post the equipment (engine and options) you expect to get for your price range.

My upper limit would be in $32-33k for a decently equipt LS3. It will be pretty difficult to get me to drop more than $33. I don't really need many bells and whistles, just the basic conveniences and maybe a HUD.

Thanks.

Again, hard to tell w/ the rising health care we're going to get hit up w/...it's a huge markup over the next three years. But, the 5 year raise...I don't know. Could be 30-33...but more likely tops will be 30. I expect a mid level engine w/ about 400 hp, leather, and a few options (not too many). However, I might wait a few (maybe a year after it's release), and get the real deal.

Wow, most everyone wants top model or 2nd best. I actually want a well optioned 6 cylinder! Daily driver, great gas mileage. Then when the convertible comes out, well, the gloves come off! or should I say the wallet opens WIDE.

If they end up putting that DI 3.6L in there with 300 hp, then the V6 may not turn out to be too shabby. Plus it will save on gas and come with lower insurance rates.

I will be spend $40k+ to get a twin for my '69.

My '04 Avanalche will be paid off by then, so I will just keep that $700/mth payment going for my Huggar Orange w/Black Stripes z/28 Camaro.

The only factual info released from GM so far on pricing is that the Camaro should be priced very similar to the Mustang. I think I recall GM info saying w/in a few hundred of the Mustang, but don't quote me on that!!!...oh, and Welcome to the site!

how much I am willing to spend

I would be willing to spend 36K-39K for the right options. I also might wait to see if there will be additional options coming out later. Blue with white stripes or red with whites stripes, a BIG V8, a manual trans, and a leather interior would suit me just fine. I would hate to buy the first year and the following year they come out with a SS or RS or SS/RS or even Z28 model. I hope GM will be giving more information in the future so we can make our decisions.
