Its only a matter of time before Dodge gives the Challengers a new refreshed look. They are going to have to once the 6Gen Camaros and the Mustangs get released. This is somebody who has owned a Challenger R/T and SRT-8 and you see where I ended up, buying a Camaro.
The "Barracuda" (coupe and convertible) is suppose to replace the Challenger in 2014 (according to Allpar here http://www.allpar.com/cars/dodge/barracuda.html)? They say it will be a lighter car than the current LC chassis and probably offer a 6.2L boosted engine option .....obviously to compete with the blown Mustang and ZL1.

Wonder if Dodge would bother freshening the Challenger interior before that? Should be an interesting model year as the new Vette and Camaro will be out/coming out.

I have a Magnum SRT8 and find the interior comfortable but now dated in materials and design/quality. The new SRT Charger and 300s are a nice update. Other than the dash, the current Camaro's interior doesn't look and feel as limited to carry it for a few more years.

PS. If the Challenger could easily be tuned AND was about 700lbs lighter. I might MIGHT consider owning one but what do I know I drive an 8yr old bloated Cavalier
Even without a tune and those extra 700 pounds, a stock automatic 392 can hit low 12s.......

I've seen fast cars run bad times at the track all the time. I'm going to go with driver error on this one.. But the 109mph is alittle odd.. Even if a driver sucks, they typically get a decent mph (unless they just miss shift after shift).

Cool.. I've always wanted to see a barge race a tank.

Don't know enough about the person running the Z to make an informed comment... I'd feel bad for making a driver comment if the person was impaired/disabled and just enjoying their car.

I take it you haven't been in a newer Challenger. The interior has been redone and way better looking than the Camaro's. Just sayin'.

And the "well it least it looks better" excuse used with Camaro vs Mustang discussions won't cut it here. Challengers are far and away the best looking of the three.

That is all.

Let the flames begin.

Hey, someone needs to start a Nissan Leaf vs. Challenger thread.

LOL

I can't say a word. My wife has a Challenger R/T.

Dude, pay a visit to your dealer. look at the fit, finish, and material quality. They increased the interior budget significantly and instead of a complete restyle they upped all the material quality and ergonomics. Not a Dodge fan, but I respect a job well done.

Then how would you explain the LSA I saw under the hood when it was in the staging lanes with the hood up. I was there. I'm the guy that took the video and uploaded it to Youtube. I saw 3 runs that it made first was a 13.84 the 13.78 and then the 13.32 in the vid.
It is a real 2012 ZL1. If you read the thread I posted a few days ago in the vs section, I give an account of the conditions, etc.
