How do you know it's not? Check this VIN decoder and page down until you see the prefixes in letters. They are in alphabetical order. This is what mine shows:

There are certain combination's built that number in the couple hundred, these cars have a chance to be worth a little more. But a R6P car will not be worth more than a non-R6P with the same options and the same miles.
It will show on the sticker in the trunk!

Not odd at all...chicklets, performance badge and backup sensors have nothing to do with R6P. There was a lot of overlap.

This is exactly correct. R6P had nothing to do with these items, it simply meant the original owner ordered the car before actual production began. I belive the date was like 15 March 2009 or something like that. Mine is R6P, unfortunately, I never received any special "thank you" letter from GM. All it was (for me) is a special-option code on the window sticker that said "Early Order Activity". And yes, it is also on my trunk sticker. But the chicklets and GM Performance Badge were installed on ALL early 2010's, well past the R6P cut-off. Those were installed until about mid-production year. And about the same time that they started to delete those, is when they started the back-up sensors. It didn't have anything to do with R6P. IMO, R6P will not have much value in the future....but no one can say for sure.

I wonder if you guys that didn't get the letter and autographed picture had anything to do with signing up on the GM website? I've been signed up to the GM website for probably 10 years.

If you haven't signed up you may want to consider it, I get model updates, rebate information, and special offers from GM every month.

Had a R6P with low vin until 2 weeks ago. I had bought the car for my daughter and 2 weeks ago a girl was texting while driving and ran a red light and hit my daughter head on and totaled the car. Car is a good safe car she walked away with out a scratch.

The official answer:

A total of 11,578 Camaros were built with RPO "R6P" -- of those:

170 were LS

1,734 were LT

9,674 were SS

11,186 - U.S

"So let it be written, so let it be done"

As soon as I saw the OP's question, I knew where the answer would come from...

...but then we wouldn't have all this fun debate!!!
