Best rotors and brake pads?

Looking for new rotors and pads all around, definitely need something with less noise and decent stopping power not so worried about brake dust.

I bought the front GM Brembo rotors and pads a few months back for my 2014 2SS. No noise. Stop great.

The CTS-V is a decent upgrade for the price. However, for a daily driver the stock rotors and pads are good. I will probably stick with the stock pads for the life of my car since I do not track. Might want to look into stainless steel lines and change out your brake fluid every so often.

Daily driver? Track use? Autocross or roadcourse? Little more info will get you a really accurate answer.

Currently mostly daily driver will have much more track use in the summer though. Right now i'm running EBC rotors and yellow stuff pads and they squeal way too much for me so i'm looking into what other people have.

If EBC Yellows squeal too much youre going to in general be dipping into pure street pads to get rid of the noise and you'll be compromising on performance. I liked EBC Yellows and EBC Rotors when I ran them though our big cars make the yellows fade. My favorite are the Hawk HP+ but those squeal even more. Try HPS???
Im also giving StopTech Slotted Sport Rotors a try, they seem to be good quality. Cant speak to their durability til summer track days!

PS- I see youre in CO. We need to sync up for HPR fun

Ah damn I don't know if I'd be okay with losing some performance and I do like the EBC rotors and yellows they work really great but the squealing is definitely a bit much sometimes. I'll check HPS out for sure I was also looking into Stoptech but i wanted more opinions.

I'm definitely down when the weather gets a bit warmer!

Maybe run the EBC Greenstuff pads for street use, swap to the yellows for track events. Might be a good option if you are happy with the performance of EBC components.

Rotors don't really matter unless you get something horribly manufactured or drilled and slotted, in which case you have downgraded. I have built several race cars and worked as a mechanic. I'd go with ACdelco or Raybestos if you want brand recognition for peace of mind.

Pads, Stock. GM picks the best damn pads. From my experience when I was a mechanic, the Tahoe and Suburban OEM brakes go for 100K miles and are quiet as can be, aftermarket would last 20-40K tops.

Not what you asked for, but If you don't mind nasty brake noise and want to stop NOW get Porterfield RF4S pads. They had my 240Z rotors glowing while out braking late model Porsches and pissing people off to no end, never faded. They also stopped better than standard pads when cold (15* cold).

The pads will seat in every time you swap them. This could cause hot spots and warping if there are excessive differences in the mating surfaces, especially if you just throw the pads on then race. However if the surfaces look reasonable, and you drive to the track to bed the pads in you may have great success.

I have also thrown in pads without cutting rotors, no issues at all when they get bedded in properly as long as they didn't have much run out before the swap.
