SS Grill Badging? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Just received my 10 Camaro! I'm wanting to change the grill out for the black powdercoated one from aftermarketanarchy. I have searched the threads and cannot find anyone with a SS badge that would fit the front of the grill (the grill is angled in front). Anyone have any ideas of where I might find one?

Welcome to Camaro5, gtc352, and congrats on getting your car. I've seen replacement front and rear bowties at latemodelrestoration and camarocollection, but no SS's. Remember the stock grill is notched for the shape of the bowtie. That might be the reason.

talked to one of the guys at slp. its a totally new badge and has an adapter so the "SS" emblem fits flush with the grill. he also said that they are available for order at you local chevy parts counter...i'm gonna order mine in the next week. and if your parts guy can't find them, tell him to call or email slp so they can be ordered....

I definately want to take the 2 bowties off and replace with SS emblems. SS belongs in the center IMO.

How easy does the grill bowtie come off? I need to build or find an insert to fill the void from the bowtie that will allow you to stick on the new style SS.

I also called and talked to SLP and they said the cost for the emblem and backing pad was around $200. But that included installation, because your getting it through the GM dealer. So you'd have to work out how much, if any, the dealer would take off for just ordering it.

send an email using the address on that page. he was very helpful in explaining how to order one. if the dealer can't find it in the catalog, they need to call slp directly.

the parts guy is clueless at the dealer...I should jump behind the damn counter. SLP should sell direct like others do with licensed GM products.

Ok I am lost there is a link to SLP which is their camaro page and opgi, which is just a 1970 emblem. Can someone please fill in the blanks for me? Part #s, link to a pic, where are you getting the back pad filler for the bowtie that the SS attaches to?

Something please...help....I wanted this mod done two months ago....
