The Evo's 4.53 axle ratio really makes a big difference too. Dont forget that the killer Evo launches with the best numbers are from 5000-6000rpm and very hard on clutches. Mags dont care, they want to get the best numbers. I havent seen many owners that are willing to drop the clutch at 6K!

Its the same damn thing. They just upgraded the seats, gauges, and changed the steering wheel. The Evo is the same damn basic car, just 3 times the price. Not to mention the crappy SunPro gauges below the HVAC look like they came from a 1980's kit car |

Evo on top.. can only tell by the "sportier" wheel and 3 gauges.

This Evo X is being slower is untrue. Initial tunes from factory were buggy and had to be ironed out. After the reflashes the EvoX was faster in quarter and around any corner. They have been destroying time attack, and can easily put down 360whp with just a tune and bolt-ons. On E85 and a tune 380whp and almost 400lbtq. Mod for Mod they are putting out 10-15 percent more power than the Evo IXs. Been to several dyno days and watched IXs vs Xs half the day with equal mods and same tuners the X were putting down more power all day. They are never a car to be taken lightly. Of coarse if you have a self tuning idiot than you'll be fine, but Evos of any models are fast and the Evo X are definitely showing to be the fastest around a road coarse easily. It would take a SS to beat a stock Evo of any model, and at that it will be very close. The ease of cranking up the power on these cars makes them a force to be reckoned with.

You can't put that kind of stress on a 2.0L engine without consequences, and same goes for the AWD system. And stock for stock, the SS is still faster. |

I saw that 7:57 also for an EVO X, don't think its real ..
fastest EVO (Stock)on the ring should be the EVO IX @ 8:11......

Not being argumentative, but the Evo X initially was slower due to the fact the 4g63 engine had been out for over a decade. The 4b11 was brand new. Evo IX still do well on the drag strip, but AMS and Ryan Gates won every time attack event in their classes in an Evo X. The Evo X also lapped the Top Gear Test track faster than the Evo IX. I have personally been at many event and dyno days. Mod for mod now the Evo Xs are putting down more power. Full bolt on IX same day same tuners averaged 310-315whp on cobs mustang dyno. EvO Xs with just a tune put that much down. Mine with bolting and tune put down 341. Evo IX on drag strip may still be the stuff due to Iron Block, but they haven't beat the X on a official road coarses with real drivers in a while.

Lol... Ok you must know the answer to this before asking it! First off comparing an evo to a v6 camaro is humoruous. A better comparison would be a new SS LS3 vs Evo, and that would be a bit closer. Really it's a drivers race in all aspects, but lets say both the SS and evo driver's know how to drive well, and it's a straight line the SS will win. If you throw some corners in, things will be very interesting for the SS driver.
