so if you get a smaller guy in the challenger and a fat guy in the camaro, the weight issue cancels out! look for the camaros parked out in front of fast food joints to race

I voted Challenger. With the possible exception of the 2011 GTs (depending on performance), the only mustang I'd ever even considering owning is a GT500. Because let's face it, it is the most powerful pony car out on the road as of right now.

1. you can not compare a heavy @ss 300c to a challenger, I had a challenger and now have a Camaro.. challengers and 300c' are nowhere near the same car.

2. If you are getting a Ford GT500 you might as well go with a Corvette for that price..there 45-53k USD.

3.Mustangs are awesome cars but I see them around every corner I turn around... Just stating my opinions I've had all three.. Loved the challenger never had a problem out of it and I put 32k miles on it.

Same engines, transmissions, platform and nearly the same weight and performance. Why can't they be compared? By the way, if the 300 is heavy, whats the Challenger?

From Chrysler.com and Dodge.com
V6 300: 3725 lbs - - - V6 Challenger: 3819 lbs
V8 300: 4096 lbs - - - Challenger R/T: 4041 lbs
300 SRT8: 4178 lbs - -Challenger SRT8: 4140 lbs

The suspension's are tuned differently, so I don't see why you couldn't make an approximate comparison based on straight line speed.... but anything past that wouldn't be an accurate comparison

How do you think the 2012 Boss 302 will affect Camaro?

not really that simple. The 300C is geared differently than the CHallenger R/T AND automatic ONLY which means it does not even get the non MDS 5.7 Hemi period (300Cs come with 2.65 gears, auto R/Ts 3.06 and 6 speeds 3.73 (09 only with 18 inch rims) or 3.92s (all 09 R/Ts with 20s and ALL 10s). . Also the MDS Motor is rated for around 368 instead of the Chalenger R/Ts 372 (auto) or 276 (manual). Also, if he had an 05-08 300C it is a HUGE difference between the 09s which have an extra 30 HP. Also all 300s have softer suspensions than their Charger and Challenger counterparts. Another thing with the V6 weights, the Challenger is heavier because it gets the better 5 speed auto, whereas the 300 is still the 4 speed and not to mention can even have a 190HP 2.7 V6. The Challenger IS going to have a different feel from it's LX counterparts because of better suspensions, gearing, and even being tuned for slightly more HP.

Considering I have and had my 2006 Mustang GT prior to the Camaro, I would definatly say the Mustang, What can I say, I am a huge mustang fan also. My 86 Mustang was my first car after all.
