UHMW tape. It's not commonly available in stores but you can order it online, not that it's the only place but McMaster-Carr should have it. Then again, the way it's said is that if McMaster-Carr doesn't have it, you don't need it. And yes, a 2" wide roll of 18 yards of it at 0.0115" thickness is $53.06. Not that you need a piece that big.

1400 miles on my 45th anniversary and no wear marks. Rare for me to have the top up while driving so easily 1250+ miles with the top down.

will just tape fix these wear marks or does the bracket have to be shaved too?

The rub marks in this thread should be taken care of by just the tape. If it were smaller dot like marks a little higher, like all the ones in the other thread, you would need the brackets cut.

My vert rubs like this but if I just lick my finger and rub it, all good. Not really too concerned. I have a 2011

No rub marks @1,200 miles of the kind you show, my '11 vert was produced on 5/10/11. Mostly top-down driving.

But I continue to watch.

I only get the minor rub marks like this weekend. I got off work at noon on Friday, went home and washed my car. Put the top down after I washed it Friday at noon, went driving around some Saturday night and Sunday. Drive it to work this morning and put the top up (had top down Friday at approx 1 till Monday morning at 8) and there were some minor white marks, I licked my finger and rubbed them and boom they went away.
