I put leather seat covers from www.leatherseats.com in my 06 silverado... couldn't order it from the factory with leather and a manual tranny, so I added the leather later.

katzkin.com is another option, both of them sell factory style covers that install and function just as well as factory, and its usually higher quality leather than the OEM stuff.

If you google map search "Katzkin dealers" you shouldn't have trouble finding a relatively close dealer/installer. Trustworthiness of the dealer is not that big of a concern, but I'd expect to pay between $1200-1500 for a kit and install. Is it worth it? Sure, if you want leather absolutely go with Katzkin. Roadwire is also another good option to check out.

I did custom Katkzins on my Challenger and yes, very worth it! Look and smell great.

Wow, they look phenomenal.

I'm impressed by the quality of the factory leather. Truly, it's very good. I love my IO interior.

If I were to go with upgraded seats, I'd consider waiting a little longer to see if the Recaros become available. Just a thought.

Not to thread jack but has anyone tried the clazzio seat covers. Look at getting some in black with orange inserts.

Or you can go the used/take off factory seat cover route. I did mine this winter with information gained from this forum and they turned out really nice. The wife wasn't real happy with my take over of the kitchen table, but she dealt with it. I'd also like to point out that removing and replacing seat covers is tedious but easy to do with hand tools. Anyone with minimal mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate pliers, a screw driver, and a ratchet can do it. PM me if you are interested in trying this. We can discuss the process in more detail and I even have an extra set of black leather covers that I'll be posting up for sale once I can take some pictures of them. Anyway, here are some pics of my seats. You'll notice the wrinkle in the side of the passenger seat. That was caused by the original owner storing the covers poorly. Since this work was done in the winter and the covers I purchased were removed from a new car with only 17 miles on the clock, I expect that a season of baking in the summer sun will tighten them up quite a bit.

I purchased Clazzio seat covers,black with red leather seat inserts and red stiching , and IMO very good quality and fit and many people that have seem the covers couldn't believe that they were not original equipment

I have factory leather, but from my understanding the factory seats are only leather on the seating surface and the rest of the seat is vinyl (sides and back of chair). If you use an aftermarket company like Katzkin then usually the entire seat is leather and they carry a warranty on most.

What do you mean by seat covers? I know it sounds dumb, but do they just stretch over the original seat? How are they held on. Is there any place on the seat, say the back for instance that you can tell it's a cover. A bit confused. I know don't laugh.

absolutely worth it. I installed Katzins myself.Went to work a few days with just the drivers seat( did the driver seat first) in the car,but it was well worth it.You can buy a pliers & hog ring kit on e-bay,just take your time,you'll be proud of what you did.
