Lets look at this... Say 20 mpg. $3.50 a gallon. Car weighs what, almost 4000 pounds. It's roughly 2200 miles from LA to NYC. 2200/20= 110 gallons * $3.50 = $385. Try to ship something that weights 4000 pound from coast to coast. It doest cost that much to move this much mass from point a to point b.

In retrospect, fuel costs in this country are SUPER low!
Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!! I always get a kick out of it when someone says things like this.

I'm glad your doing well enough for it not to bother you. For some, a dollar or more increase in gas is a big deal. If you don't mind paying for it, I'll send just my increase in cost for gas in the past month for my fleet of trucks that I manage. I'm sure you'll find it no big deal.

Let me tell you, it adds up big time.

Gas prices are going to go up and stay up. I feel for the young couples that are just starting out with mortages, car payments and young children.

I can't complain about my own financial situation, but I do feel bad for those that are hit by the price increase. That's a meal for a family somewhere.

+10000.... I run 11 full size 1 ton trucks plus 2 F-550s. It hurts like hell when it goes up even 2 cents. My trucks average 7 mpg with the plows and salters. I want to get more dodge diesels but waiting til I get all the checks from plowing and waiting for some dummy that thinks the new ford trucks are good for something besides getting warranty work done.

Actually the folks I feel for are the ones who deliver our goods... Truckers work hard and get hit hardest when prices go up. I look at the diesel prices and then see them stuck in traffic jams here just burning fuel and really do feel for what they have to go through to make ends meet...

This ultimately affects all of us... we just need steady prices... too low is not good either.

$2.50ish? I would never settle for that.

I'm looking for $1.50/gal premium, $1.35/gal regular.

Or better yet... I'mma get me a job with an oil company

in ontario 94 octane at 1.29 a litre x 3.78 per gallon is 4.87 then our dollar is on ave .98 US dollar that makes it $4.97 a gallon!

now you know why we have so called good health care, every driver puts a few cents toward there ... health care

Oh for God's sake... You don't have to tell me anything, I commute 170 miles PER DAY, 5 days a week... Sure it adds up but its not something I am going to cry the blues about. It costs me an extra couple bucks a day and I dont have any control over it. Not going to kill me, or anyone else for that matter. If I want to continue to drive, I WILL PAY or I can take some of my own advise. Walking 85 miles to work isnt really going to happen... You will NEVER hear me bitch about the cost of fuel. Go to Europe... its like $8.00 a gallon.

I am sure for some people $1 more per gallon is a big deal... and as for your fleet of trucks, I am sorry about that, I am sure it cuts into your bottom line for whatever it is you do but no one really wants to hear you, or anyone else complain about it. Thats the problem with people, they arent happy unless they are complaining about something... its too hot, its too cold, too much rain, not enough rain, gas prices are too high, wages are too low... my goodness... enough already.

You dont want to pay for fuel to manage all those trucks... FIND A DIFFERENT JOB. No one is forcing you to do it.

No what I do think is is when its $3.00 today, $3.50 wednesday, $3.00 Friday, $3.40 next Wednesday... WTF, just price the shit and stick with it. Maybe the sheik can sell one of his chrome cars and make gas $3.00 for a year. I'm done, whine on.

Hey.. wait... and how much were the "delivery fees" on our Camaros??? By those calculations, it would have been cheaper to drive my Camaro from Oshawa to Los Angeles. PLUS mine was packed on a train full of other cars, and tons of other crap... being shipped... and charged... paying money.............

I believe train is the cheapest way to ship anything across the country.
