Will I make it home??? Used 2SS/RS

I am suppose to go pick up a 2012 2SS/RS with 4500 miles on it. Unfortunately it is 325 miles away. I can get there fine with my Camaro, it will be about 40 degrees going down, but coming back it will be mid 30's and about 33 when I get home. I have to go through Chicago and Milwaukee and it will be rain/light snow. I think it will be just wet on the freeway, but once I get off it might be time to get a motel room. I have driven alot of rear wheel drive cars in the snow, but not with Pirellis and 400hp. So when will I get home, leaving 10am after purchase. Maybe monday night, tuesday night, next April???

Yes, I have no intention to drive or take off fast. I am going to try and stay away from everyone as much as possible. Thats if I don't chicken out at 1am looking at weather.com

Yeah I am gonna have to get it washed with underbody flush after driving in this #$!*, and I appreciate your advice, I will check the map I printed to make sure which way I am going. I have driven that way a few times, but I do not have I-pass because it is like once a year. The tolls may present the biggest issue, with having to slow down and take off, but hopefully the tires will stay warm from the long ride.

Heh, not yet. I won't get it until 9am Monday. Only problem is I am sentimental, or just mental, kind of attached to my 1LT even though I know it doesn't have everything I want. I know I could get a 2LT at a nice price, GM employee discount, USAA discount, preferred pricing and 500 bonus cash. I am all ready to make the trip, but it is a hard choice all the way around. I also know I can not afford a brand new 2SS/RS.

Sorry, you're not gonna make it.

Inform your family you're driving south instead and you will be back in the Spring...;-)

That would actually be kind of nice. Maybe I could become a bartender down in the keys......

It's not that hard. We had ice on the road here and my Pirellis were way past needing to be replaced and still was able to roll around from club to club without spinning out unlike the four or five other cars we saw go spinning about. Just keep your foot light and remember to make small corrections.

I drove in from Oklahoma to lubbock and it was raining and it was 27 outside some ice on the road I was going about 50mph you should be fine. Though I had about 200 or so pound of stuff in the trunk Added traction I believe

LOL? The dead guy in the trunk weighed 200lbs? Glad there was no snow or you might have had to stuff a couple more bodies in there.

why would be a dead guy was 2 hookers in all honesty I was moving so I had the seats folded down with boxes and stuff I am pretty sure it was 200 pounds or even more. any weight over the tires added traction.

drive safe and take it easy and you should be fine best of luck.

Chicago is supposed to have some light snow Thur-Fri.

I would pick up a few bags of sand at a home depot and throw them in the trunk if you are worried.

I hope actually to be home Monday around 5 or 6 pm. Thanks for the sand bag idea. I didn't even think of that.
