Arrow Cat-astrophy Cats destroyed!

Ok, so I was told to remove my cats when I added the nitrous system. I was planning on it anyway since I'm spraying C16 with my dedicated fuel cell when running the N2O. C16 being a leaded gas, was a bad thing for the cats anyway.

So I installed the Nitrous, have ran through about 3 10 lb. bottles.

After removing the cats what I saw wasn't good. I'm sure this has restricted my airflow, not to mention my car sounds like it's breathing now and has a way more aggressive exhaust note. I've included pictures to get comments on what you think happened. My question is, could this of happened over time even before I had the nitrous? My car was built about a year and a half ago and it's been running around 450 RWHP. The exhaust was the first thing I put on the car when I bought it. It's SLP LTH's with High flow cats. The rest of it is the PowerFlo stuff SLP sells to mate with it all in 3" size.

With the nitrous, the car dyno's just under 600 RWHP.

Yep, nitrous and 2 steps eat cats like a 16 year old at the bunny ranch.

LOL! Funny. No 2 step running though. Just nitrous. But would it eat the cats up that fast? 3 bottles?

Yes, those hi flos are ok for a na setup, but they aren't very durable with power adders.

It's definitely louder. I accelerated and was like "oh shit, the neighbors are gonna love me now".

I wondered about that too. So might be running a bit lean?

I removed my high flow cats when I put the supercharger on. I read the horror stories and decided not to participate.

I read them too but didn't think I'd lose them that quick. It's why i wonder if some of that wasn't done before the nitrous.

My new cats only lasted 2-3 weeks after whipple went on, detonated the crap out of it killed my compression on 2 cylinders, they looked like yours in pic's, now have better engine though. I noticed a big diff in noise level at wot once cats were gutted, even with stock exhaust still in place, dare not open it up in residential area's any more.
