2015 Camaro Z/28 20K Price Drop!!!

Okay this is really shocking and I kind of feel bad for people that paid 75K for this car when it just dropped 20K in price! So my question is since its the same price as a ZL1 now.... what would you get the 2015 ZL1 or the 2015 Z/28??

It depends on how much you want to pay for brake pads and rotors?

Z/28 = track car

ZL1 = can do everything else well and still be a great track car.

Sounds good I basically just take mine to drag strip, I sure love my ZL1 though seen Z28s really don't have anything inside like the ZL1

Go drive a Z/28...that's all I'm saying.

Z/28 = truly rare car

ZL1 = can do everything else well and is 300lbs heavier.
Fixed it!

According to the chief brake engineer at Brembo, "Another benefit: carbon ceramic rotors are also more durable than standard parts. Obviously, the lifespan of a rotor depends on many variables, especially if you regularly use the car on a track,” Bruletti says. “However, for most Z/28 owners, we expect that the carbon ceramic rotors will likely last the entire life of a car.”

I was not making my comments to knock the Z/28 at all...

It's a awesome track car. If the Z/28 is going to be your garage queen and you go to the track then that's the car for you.

The ZL1 is still a great track car but it can also be a great drag racing car, touring car...mag shocks do great on the highway and streets. And it has a better interior. Unless your Ofer and can afford to replace the interior with all the MyLink goodies. lol

Can't go wrong either way it's just a matter of what kind of car do you want and would enjoy the most based off your needs.

I've thought about trading my ZL1 in on a Z/28 and got my wife's blessing to do it last Friday. Having to go do the deal holds me back

The ZL1 is a better overall car but the Z/28 has a strong pull on my heart. If I was buying now I'd go that route. They are rare and raw and history will look back fondly on them.

There is a reason the Z/28 won a "best drivers car" competition where as the ZL1 finished 6th. Not knocking the ZL1 at all. It's not because it's a better track car. Notice the title of the competition. Best drivers car...like I said, go drive one. That's the only way YOU can understand.

I test drove a ZL1 in 2012...I bought a Shelby. Why, because I liked the Shelby better. The Z/28 is 10 times as cool as the Shelby and drives much much better.

Also, if you've never seen a Z/28 in person...find one for sale and go look at it.
That'll make up 60% of your buying decision right there. Drive it, and the other 40% will be taken care of.

^This is a TRUE statement! I have owned a 1LE, ZL1 and now the Z/28 and its hands down the pick of the litter!!! I also own a 2010 Shelby, yes the Shelby is faster in a drag race, but throw a curve in there and well the Z/28 will DESTROY the Shelby? I have never tracked my car and probably never will, but on a nice mountain road here in East Tennessee, I promise you I can make a Shelby owner make his car over heat trying to keep up! I know this because I've done it a few different times. Once you drive the Z/28 nothing will compare in its price range. That's just my $.02

So so true. Coming most recently from a supercharged Viper and really needing a back seat for my 2 boys to tag along sometimes-I went to the dealer to buy an auto ZL1 (drove it and a Z/28) returned home in the Z/28. I've had 20+ all different kinds of sport cars and truly love my Z/28. To each his own-just drive/see one in person and find out if it is your ammo of choice.
