Delete cats to run leaded race fuel?

I would like to have my car tuned to run 100 octane race fuel that is available here in my area. The problem is that it is LEADED fuel and I was told that if I had my car tuned for it and used it it would mess up my hi-flow cats.
If I wanted to proceed with the 100 octane plan should I go ahead and delete my Kooks cats? Any other problems associated with running leaded fuels in these cars?????
Cost of the gas is not a big factor as in the last 17 months of ownership there are only 1500 miles on the car so it does not get alot of use.
Thanks for everyones thoughts and comments.

You can get the car tuned for 100, but if you do that you will always have to fill up with 100. Which you may or may not be able to do

Leaded Fuel contaminates the O2 sensors so this is a concern, look for 100 Octane Unleaded and your problems will be solved.

Nearly all Race fuel companies offer a 100 and 104-108 Unleaded.

Ted.

We've been running unleaded 108 for years in our race car. I however would reconsider if this is your daily driver. It is very expensive.

I run sunoco 108. It's 8.00 per gallon and I plan on replacing my wb sensor at least once per season.

I'd say for a daily driver its impractical due to cost and availability.

Ted is correct. Also, you won't gain m uch w/out bumping up your compression to use the higher octaine. In fact in a stock motor you will probably loose power as the higher the octaine the slower the burn.

What is your reasoning behind wanting to run higher octane fuel? You gain nothing by just switching fuel unless you've done a mod that makes you NEED higher octane. As Ted pointed out, leaded fuel will eat up your O2 sensors.

I dump racing gas in my old cars because I like the smell.
