I think Hognutz made a comment about all the modes and nannies somewhere. Eric from Torq also turned all off to get his best runs on the autox. I plan to do the same soon as I can get there hopefully next weekend. Was the same w/ the SS... everything had to be OFF. Who knows what PTM mode these guys are running... it takes quite a few runs and practice to figure out what's going to work best.

it is what it is, by itself its a "decent" car, compared to its direct competition its a TOTAL failure, people on here can drink all the Kool Aid they want and I personally could care less who favors what in a magazine contest

it limits power, power has an impact on trap speed. I have yet to own a car that traps the same with all the systems on. My mustang GT was almost crippled if I did not turn off the traction control it was so bad I diabled it perminatly.

what does your mustang trap with TC on vs off. I really doubt it is the same.

didn't even think about the TCS... but didn't the ZL1 driver have all the nannies off anyway? or is there a "proper" way to turn them all off?

he was in launch control, ptm 5 so the systems were active but they are supposed to "optimized". when eric was talking about auto x'ing he said you could feel the ECM step in even in PTM 5. just seems like when cars trap low 111-113 this systm is on. I have yet to drive a paddle shifted car or a launch control I like to date. I keep hoping they get this stuff right. sound like the GTR and the GT500 have decent lauch control.

remember before this car came out all of the talk?
Can it beat a Z06????? Then when the "official" numbers dropped it was said it was basically the same as a Grand Sport, sorry but I don't see that happening, this car would get raped by a LS3 Vette , its equal to a LS2 C6 on a good day

Actually, that is one slow GS Vette. My z51 equiped bonestock 1lt Vette went 11.80 at almost 119mph. Which by the way is faster than the ZL1... Now granted I am number 2 all time on the Corvette forum and I made the run in mineshaft air at Va Motorsports Park....But it still did it. These magazine people can`t drive worth a flip...

Thanks to OP for taking the track on its offer and then sharing his results.
Best of luck in future track outings, I didn't run my best in my SS on the first pass.

That's a lot of off the line tirespin on the Z.

Barry (ZL1) didn't do a burnout at least on the first race. No wonder so much tire spin.
