Best Cam for 5th Gen Camaro

Gary brought in his awesome 5th Gen Convertible to MTI Racing for a pair of long tube headers and MTI Racing Stage 3 camshaft to boost the performance of this already potent muscle car. Along with the cam and headers MTI Racing also installed a set of MTI Racing Hot Spark Plug Wires, GM Bow Tie timing chain damper, Katech C5R timing chain, and Volant Cold Air Intake. With tuning Gary's Camaro is now putting down 456RWHP and 420LB of torque at the tire. Not only did the car have a great power increase but it sounds awesome with the long tube headers and cam combination.

Is that an L99 or the LS3? I'm looking at getting a cam in a few months! Where are you guys located? What do you charge for cam, all components, install, and tuning on an LS3 M6?! Is the stage 3 an aggressive cam or is it mild? I'm also looking at getting a centri blower after the cam so I would need something compatible. If the price is good then you might have another customer!!

"Best Cam for 5th Gen Camaro"... bold statement there.

drivability? MAP? no cam specs? It's hard to believe that anyone would buy a cam without knowing the specs.

I know numbers aren't everything, but the numbers are pretty low for the "best cam" for a 5th gen.

Results seems low for the 'best cam'. Maybe MTI dyno is reaaally stingy..I hope! A bunch of cam only setup has hit 480rwhp...

He may have meant best all around cam but do think for a "stage III" it would make some more but depends on the baseline.

I just wish the OP would have came back to answer questions and address our statements. I think I'll look elsewhere for a cam now...

We call it the “heart breaker”. It’s the most accurate dyno in the south east.

We get allot of “I had my car at ## and it made more than this”.

As far as the cam he went with the V3 cam. it's our street strip cam. We could do a v4 but that would sacrifice drive-ability. It’s not the Dyno Queen cam. It’s our Best cam for what Gery was looking to do. Have a beast of a street car.

Johnny, was that car equipped with the L99 engine or the LS3? What do you charge for cam installs and what is the wait time for the job?
