Speaker recommendations

I have the jl audio xd 400 amp installed. I want to replace the factory speakers any recommendations for the speakers. And is it better to just replace the fronts and just add a sub for the rears. Or should I do rear speakers and a sub. Thanks for any help.

depends on your budget, have had great success with Polk DXI's there 6500 door componets are awesome, the DXI 6501's are the newest version.

I would be interested in this process as well?? However I was looking more towards focal brand. Same scenario as op though. Should fronts be done with sub or all together. I don't even have amp yet

depends if you are going to add anther amp later to power the sub or not. I personally did the doors and the amp in my last camaro this time I will probably end up doing the amp again and see how it sounds. knowing myself I will probably do the doors also. what you do will depend on your taste in sound. Me I am not a huge base guy so will probably do amp and door components and call it a day.

Amazon is your friend. JL C2-650 components in front run about $125 and JL C2-690 run about $114.

I did the fronts two weeks ago and installed the rears today. Used the ******** adapters all the way around ($40 for all 4 plus ship I think).

Sounds fantastic.

One note. I did install a sub before I did anything else. I did the stealth kit from ********. One kicker 12" and a kicker 400/1 mono amp. I ran the RCA pre amp out from the JL XD 400 amp to the kicker.

I've been pretty pleased with my Alpine Type-R's, both front and rears. However, if you're going to be running a sub later on down the road, the front and rear speakers would only be used for high's...I think. That's how I have my audio set up.

Hindsight, I would have left the rear speakers stock because now they are only used for fill.

I went with the Polk Audio DB6501 components for the doors and the db691 for the rears. What a difference from the stock speakers. Easy to install and the tweeters fit right into the factory housing. Did the front and rear speakers in about 3 1/2 hours.

Since the rears are so difficult to replace, how much improvement does just replacing the fronts with components do ?

IMO it makes a huge difference, combine that with a more powerful amp and you got a much clearer, cleaner front stage experience. when I didn my last camaro it was the best part of the system, even better than the sub part IMO

I cant decide between Alpine R front and rear with 1 12 sub or Infinity Kappas. I have Alpine 450w 4ch amp and a Alpine 500w 1ch for the sub. Im already running a Infinity 12 sub.

What about alpine fronts and infinity 6x9?

Can't go wrong there!
