For Example - Yes, a 2010 mustang GT will be able to beat a Camaro V6 at the strip (by all of .5 if you use the old GM estimate. I'm thinking it'll closer to .3 or .4 once they knock that .2 off the 0-60) but the difference will be incredibly small! Maybe a car length and a half at the finish line, at most! And considering that the mustang w/ track package (which is the one that got the 13.8 1/4) will cost as least 30,000, and 33,000 if its an option only available on the GT premium - we're talking a SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLAR DIFFERENCE in price. For the money, the GT should be a lot more than a car length ahead at the finish line.

Yea but I don't think Ford really cares about HP at the moment, which is why I'm getting a Camaro instead of another Mustang. The Mustang GT costs more cause it has some nice features like Sync and a nav system. The interior of the 2010 is a lot nicer than the 05-09. Ford's just trying to get sales and seems content to lose the HP war again. But then again the 2011 model is supposed to get a HP upgrade, so we'll see.

I certainly hope they get a HP upgrade. HP wars are what make the car great.

I don't think it will get all that much. Girls don't generally like too much power. As long as it is shiny on the outside.

why would you ever, ever, ever, ever, switch from an evox to a camaro v6???? I don't understand. Evox is sooo much better in every aspect than camaro c6 accept maybe mpg.

.1 in the 1/4 is nearly a car length. Based on the current numbers, the GT (which traps 102's-104's) will trap ~4 mph higher, which is a considerable margin. The performance difference will show up at the strip.

Actually, the Evo starts at $ 33,000 msrp, MR version starts at $37,000 and with options could go past $40 large - for a lancer great! Perhaps the SS is a more apt comparison. But, maybe not, I don't want to feed the Evo trolls. It's a disgustingly ugly car with a giant shopping cart wing. Many like it, I would never own one, different strokes I guess. Having said that, if I had no domestic choices, the only one I would consider would be the STI, I guess because I have a friend with one, so I can't really hate on it, I give it it's due respect. I don't think the Evo will be crossed shopped much with the Camaro, as those that like them will be more apt to cross shop with the other import choices

I have a question. Can you boost an SS up to 650+ HP for rather cheap (under 10K) and drive it to work everyday no prob. YES.

Can other cars do this?

(Should I get a Z06?)

evo does it cheaper.... evo 8 and 9's can do it for under 10k and have over 600 awhp.... note the greater drivetrain hp loss!!! Evox can boost up to over 500awhp safely on stock internalls from a 2 litre engine.

i guess the latter. i was checking out the evo for fun on saturday, and without even asking for a quote they told me if i'm interested i can take $6500 off of any Evo they have on the lot... so a GSR with the SSS package (HID's, better stereo etc) the car would be around 29k. just as much as a 2LT/RS. i've heard from people that got even more off the sticker.

Mitsu built enough 08 model cars to last thru 2009 until the 2010 models are coming out some time later this year, they didn't even build any 09 models.
