Fort Adams Car Show - 9/25/16

FORT ADAMS IN THE FALL CAR SHOW 2016

It's time to get this planned and hopefully the weather will be with us this year. Those of us who've attended in the past know the location is awesome and one of the most picturesque settings for a car show. It looks like the Camaros are being parked again inside the fort. We are Class NN when it comes to registration. If you get tired of looking at over 400 cars, then you can take a tour of the fort and even the underground tunnels if you're brave enough.

Gates open at 9:00 A.M and registration closes at 11:45 A.M.
Registration is day of show only and cost is $15.00.
Canned/non perishable food donations accepted.
Peer Judging starts around 10:30am ends at 12:15pm. Awards at 2:00.
Food and refreshments available.
Cruisin' Bruce is the host/DJ.

Quick directions, Rt 138 to Farewell St, to America's Cup Ave, to Thames St, to Wellington Ave, to Harrison Ave.

See Post #2 for CT meeting point, past points used noted in Post #3 and signup list.

Weblink to the show announcement with more details if you need them:

http://rotaryatthefort.org/

Here is their Registration info:

As before, we will only have Registration on the day of the show. One of our continuing goals is to make the Registration process when you arrive at Ft. Adams as effortless as possible and in this regard, we will have five registration and classification teams.

Registration cost is $15.00. All funds raised go to support Middletown Rotary’s charitable causes.

Procedures:

Early Greeting of Entrant. Well before you park you reach the area where entrant fees are collected and Registration/Windshield Cards distributed; a team member will pass out a list of Classes to the entrant (allows them to ensure what Class they will be in) and tell them to have their entry fee of $15 ready. They will also pass out a graphic of the Fort grounds so you can see where your vehicle will be parked. Having your $15 entrant fee ready definitely is a time-saver for everyone.

Collection of $15 Entry Fees. Team members will be collecting the entrant fee first, working their way up the line of vehicles. By having two people collecting entrant fees will ensure that the line of cars moves quickly.
Distribution of Windshield/Registration Cards. After you have paid your entrant fee, you will proceed up the line to a second station where the Windshield/Registration Cards are marked. Two or three team members will be performing this function moving up the line. A key task here is for the team member, with a black marker, to put your Class letter on your Windshield card. If at all possible, please know your Class designation before you get to this station. When you get to your parking area and have a minute; please fill out your Registration Card as complete as you can and bring it to the Registration Table located by the entrance to the inner Fort parade grounds.

Parking. Once you have received your cards, proceed down the line to the station where they will be told what direction their Class area is. There will be many volunteers over the entire show area to direct them exactly to where they need to be. They will be wearing yellow shirts and have red flags to help direct you. This is a show organized by Class of vehicle so you should park in the area you are directed to. There are large identification signs at the entrance to each Class parking area.

I'll rally the CT crew and meet those coming from other rally points at Slots, as usual. Our CT rally point will be our usual spot the commuter parking lot in Norwichtown. Map and timing noted below:

CT Rally Point for Fort Adams Show
OK all you guys going to this awesome show...here's the plan and timing:

We need to meet the others at Newport Grand Slots between 8:30-8:45am so we can leave by 9am, from the rally point in Norwich it is 1 hour 20 min to get there. So lets all be at the Norwich Rally point by 7:00am. There is a place to fuel up right across the street and grab coffee too.

If you haven't signed up for this show, get going!

REMINDER - Bring your EZ-Pass if you have them, your walkies set to channel 5.0 and chairs.

Below is the map for the rally point....Let's go!

As usual our final rally point will be at the SLOTS Parlor on Admiral Kalbfus Hwy, visible from the Newport Pell Bridge. If you are coming from southeast Mass that is also Rt 138.
We will plan to depart from there at 9:00 A.M.

SEE POST #15 for details on Northern New England Rally Point for Ft. Adams has been the Emerald Square Mall in N. Attleboro, MA it's on the way and easy because 99% of the people who may come from the north will have been there before. Someone from that area will have to take charge of that rally point to get the gang out on time if used.

Southeast Mass rally points see post # TBD. (anybody?)

I can list everyone who is attending in this thread.

The R.I. group has met at Gregg's Restaurant in Warwick on Post Rd just north of rt 37 in the past. Someone will have to take charge of that rally point if used. Be ready to depart at 8:20.
