CEL light on please help?

My CEL just came on for the first time.

Mods I have are CAI intake with 15,000-16,000 MI approx, MRT V2's, Resonator Delete. What could it be?

BTW I do not have ONSTAR.

I'm going to assume it's the CAI for now. Check the connections of your MAF sensor and everything else. Unplug your battery for a bit to let the computer reset and then hook it back up. I installed a CAI on a friend's camaro and for some reason it ran really rich and the check engine light came on instantly. We disconnected the battery for a while and then hooked it back up after checking all the conections and making sure the MAF was hooked up right. No problems after that.

It's the first time I've ever had it happen when installing a Cold Air Inductions intake as well.

If it's not that... Dealership time to check the codes and see what they say.

It could be a number of different things. You need to have the code read and then we can help you further.

I doubt it's a quality issue. It's probably more that the car is reacting negatively with the instant change in air flow compared to the last time it was running. If you reset the computer by disconnecting the battery like it usually tells you in the instructions that problem doesn't happen. Usually..........

This being said... his CEL may have nothing to do with the cold air intake and could be something completely different.

Just disconnect your battery before you instal it (This will ensure you without a doubt left it off long enough to reset anything needing to be reset.) and check all connections as well as hook up your MAF properly... Once you're done hook the battery back up. Some people will say that it's not necessary but hey, why chance a CEL?

P.S. Buy a Cold Air Inductions intake.

2012 V6's have an issue with the ECM reading the fuel rail pressure sensor wrong (anomaly). Usually happens after a few thousand miles are on the car for whatever reason. There is an ECM update to fix this. I have had some CAI's cause issues on V6's as well, but would bet on the ECM update first!
