Ha ha, that's what I figured...was hoping for the best of both worlds. I think I will give PatrickT a call to get some of his Hawk pads. Probably the HPS.

These guys are not cheap, but they make the best track pads IMO

2 Questions:
1. Am I getting this right that the CTS-V brake swap is just that. Remove the OE calipers and bolt on the CTS-V units? No special/new brackets or other mods necessary?

2. Is it really necessary to swap both front and rear OE Brembo's with CTS-V front and rear? Or is just putting the CTS-V 6 pistons up front sufficient?

1. Yes, from what Ive read they should bolt right up.

2. No, the rear brake calipers are the same on the CTS-V and SS.

I think all you have to do to bolt up the CTS-V calipers is to trim a piece of the dust shield away as the calipers are quite a bit bigger than the stockers.

Pete,
Do you have the part number for the bolts? I have everything else but the bolts. I need to get some on order.

Thanks

1. They bolt right up after trimming the dust shield.

2. The rear calipers are the same on the CTS-V as they are on the SS. Functionally a SS being upgraded to to front CTS-Vs has NO need to upgrade the rear caliper. I would change the rear pads to the CTS-V with the SS fronts,

Light weight / performance gain vs one piece cost.
