RST-1LE's "Scarlett" 2014 1LE Build

Hello,

Finally getting around to doing this! I've been lurking on the forums for a few years now gathering info and seeing what I would like in a Camaro and after 5 years of saving, looking, and drooling, I finally pulled the trigger and bought one. So, I'm now the proud owner of a 2014 2SS/RS 1LE in Crystal Red Tintcoat.

I found the car in Long Island from a member of this forum actually. I messaged him and we talked about the car for a good week or so until I could come down and see the car. So I drove down and took the ferry across the sound to meet him on a nice day and see the car, I was not disappointed. The color alone was enough for me to buy it, add in the 1LE package and the Recaro's and there was no way I couldn't buy it! After ogling these cars for so long I will admit I was really nervous actually being in one I could possibly own let alone drive it. But being as I've never owned let alone driven a manual car that much, I'll leave it at "I did okay" driving it around the parking lot a little. I went home and set up shipping for the car and within a week the car was sitting in my driveway one Saturday morning, nothing better then waking up to the driver calling you saying "I'm here with the car, can you come out and meet me?"

I was actually pretty nervous as this is my first manual car. But the gentleman I bought the car from had very sound advice and after a few weeks of taking my time and driving it around as much as I could, I'm pretty comfortable. It's such a far cry from anything I've ever driven, which isn't saying much as this is my 3rd car. My first being a Pontiac G5 (had it for 8 year, lady pulled out of her driveway and totaled it) and my second being a Jetta GLI. It's very fun, but I know what it can do is more then I can and I respect it for that. I'm not one to get stupid and tempt fate. Needless to say, I will be growing into this car and its capabilities in the future for sure!

Anyways, as the car sits, this is what has been done to it.

Z/28 Grill and Flowtie
Z/28 Spoiler
ZL1 Rock Guards

Thanks, same to you! I was originally going for Silver Ice Metallic. BTW, how's the view out the rear window with the wicker bill?

Car looks great. I also have the wickerbill, y do need to see whos behind you lol. IMO its not that bad, only makes the view smaller by about .5-1 inch. Back-up camera works for reversing.

Thanks, makes sense, was just curious about what it does to the view. The yellow looks great btw, I haven't really seen many non-1LE yellow cars but it works without the hood wrap.

It basically hinders the view a little bit but the clear window in the middle of the ZL1Addons version really helps. You basically can see from the hood up on cars behind you, unless its a higher truck or van.

Thanks. Ya mine isn't a 1le, but I have some of the cosmetic parts lol. And SSEssence wickerbill looks to be way higher then mine so it is probably better being clear.

A wicker bill is on my list of thing to get in the future but having just bought the car, I kind of want to let my bank account recover a little first. Ultimately the first thing I plan on doing to the car is add some ZL1 Rockers. I think it needs something to even it out between the front lip and the rear valance.

Yes they totally change the way the car looks. I also upgraded to the Zl1 quad tip diffuser

I'm torn on that, I'm not sure if I just want to keep my rear diffuser or go ZL1 or Z/28

I like the z/28 diffuser but it was too expensive for me lol. Plus it comes painted so I would have to get all my other pieces painted to match. I was also going from single tip to quads so it was 1le or zl1 option

If that's the case with the Z/28 one being painted, I may just keep the 1LE one and get some splitters and a diffuser from Aero Sport Concepts. Was going to look into a belly pan too.
