it seems to be common up to the teens, and I do like the pvp server so far.

Ran into an old rival from UO on Stonecrest. Guy from Spawners Inc. on baja. =)

I'm level 12 in about 3 hours of play...The rifts are ok, but it's too hard to target thing in groups effectively. They don't really give a lot of instruction, I'm assuming there's going to be a manual with the game?

The crafting system is ok, but foraging nodes seems to be few and far between, mining nodes even sparser, and making stuff with your materials doesn't increase your butcher/foraging skill. I only have one receipe for each and lots of other crafting mats that I can't use. The pve isn't bad, but the public quest thing is not my favorite.

If you start a rift, you stand a chance to not get anything if you can't find and target the boss of that level. If you're going to do public things, you should be able to fight and kill off your competition to claim it to yourself. If you want to make it an instance, that's fine, but people can just sit there and leech which is no bueno with me.

Maybe I'm being nitpicky, but so far it doesn't look like a game I'd like to subscribe to. Going to check out an instance hopefully before the game takes off and see if it will change my mind.

Anyone know if they're doing just one size raid dungeon, or if they're making it like wow with 10 man (small) and 25 man (large) raids?

1. Don't expect amazing graphics. The models look like they stepped out of EQ1 or 2, and I've not explored much of the world yet, but it's...well, it's not 2011, that's for sure.

2. It's WoW. It's kinda...funny. The UI is excruciatingly similar, from the bags in the corner, to talents, achievements...whole nine yards. Can they DO that?

3. Having played not only WoW but almost everything else, I can pretty much point at any given thing in the game and say, "That's from AION," etc. (The story is very AION, for example.)

They all copy each other. WoW ripped off DAOC big time, Aion copied Wow, Rift copies all of them. haha
As for gfx, you have to crank them up manually, then the game looks decent.

Regardless of GUI and graphics, its the rule set that I'm interested in.

yup haha, and yet IMO WoW failed to grasp me like DAoC

which this game is doing quite well

Well I have to take a break from game. Not saying I'm not subbing but need to do some study sessions. Pre ordered the game though so I'm playing head start. Any of you considering picking it up? For sure that is.

Actually Meridian 59 was the first, most folks never heard of it because it was not as successful.
