My dad and i made a 5 hour trip to Bowling Green KY. saturday cause my 12.92 at St. louis had to many what ifs. ! The 10 mph head wind , shifting into 4th instead of staying in 3rd and the track wasnt there for my 60ft. Not that it matters but i had Clay Jones the track owners son who ran the starting line sign my slips. They had the starting line perfect at Beech Bend . My C/SA 71 Chevelle has 60ft 1.41 thier. Its a great track to race at.

Nice job! Unfortunately a k&n removes you from the 100% bone stock list. Still a great pass.

yeah I wish the OP had run with the stock paper filter but if it did add anything I'm willing to bet its no more than half a tenth and half a mph

Running a K&N in the factory airbox doesn't count as a mod. Hell you can
see variations with running different brands of paper filters in the stock box.
Cut the guy some slack. A Napa Gold air filter in the stock box will flow more air than a K&N, because it has way more surface area. I proved it in my Dodge diesel with 45 lbs of boost. The K&N pulls the restriction guage into the red even when it was new. I put in a Napa Gold filter, and in 4 months never once pulled the restriction guage even halfway down.

Sorry there is no grey area to "bone stock". You might as well let people pull the filter completely if intakes don't count. There us a major difference in flow volume between a k&n over a traditional paper filter. K&N wouldn't have a business if there wasn't.

Yeah..I agree it probably didn't do much but it still counts as a mod. I agree..it's a shame it was in there but it looks like he had the record without it.

Nice job! And the Challenger guy is most likely referring to the K&N cold air intake. That's what K&N claims their CAI will give. Or he's being the standard Challenger guy that doesn't believe these Camaro's can run 12's stock (apparently they can't read magazines, forums, & close their eyes at the track).

Well I would say ~1mph... or ~10rwhp to be fair... 109mph is what I would have expected stock.

hahaha you like to debate I'll give you that, I'm always up for a friendly debate

heres a thread about the usefulness (or lack thereof) of K&N air filters when used on LS1s (4th gen fbods)-

http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/new-ls...ir-filter.html

in most cases people prefer the paper and agree no gains to be had with the K&N
