Rear foglight install suggentions??

Hi there,

Because i will eventually end up importing the Camaro in Holland i have a question.

I want to replace 1 back up light in the rear bumper with a red fog light which is mandatory in Holland. I have to make a switch in the dash somewhere. Does anybody know where a 12V line is located which is easily spliced to install such a thing.

Also, does anybody know where to get a red light housing which will fit in one of those rear slots???

I hope somebody can help a brother out!!

So, you you want 1 backup and 1 rear fog or 1 rear fog / backup and 1 backup.

And to make sure I'm getting this right you are looking to replace one of these.

EmblemPros has a switch plate you can buy that takes the place of one of the cupholders spots and will get you a very clean looking install. as far as the light on the rear bumper, you could just take out one of the lens and have it covered or painted on the inside with a transparent red. OR buy some red trasparent plastic and make your own. as far as powering it, delete that one as far as a backup goes and for a single light, it would depend on the light itself and how much power you would need to ensure you wouldn't overload the circut and pop fuses or burn up any wiring, does it have to actually be a fog light? or require to emit a specific amount ot light? if so....that part would take a little more thought to give you a complete answer.

If you don't mind losing the use of the front 12V outlet, this is what I did with my switch for my amp. It looks a little better now that I re-did it a bit, but this gives the general idea... It wasn't too hard to do either.

That's just because in Holland there is only one permitted, you may not use two in the rear because some may see this as brake lights and be startled.

Not a problem... it happens to the best of us...

It worked out very well for my situation to use that because it is a switched wire...

you could get some of that see through tail light repair tape and cover the clear reverse lens with it.
