In Germany on the Autobahn: 100 ultimate Shell and in Switzerland: 98 AVIA. Looking at the Octane you guys are using, i guess could also get the here regular 95 and save some Money . No issues with 95 i would guess !

Same as you when a station carries it and 91 or higher when I'm travelling and can't find one that does. One of the forum members also recommended to me to always carry some octane booster when travelling in case you run into a situation where you can't find good fuel.

keep in mind that the octane ratings are different between europe and the US. (RON vs. AKI i believe).

92 - 93 in the US translates to approx. 97 in Europe...

Likely most of the black soot stories you have reading is due to those of us who have removed the exhaust solenoid fuse allowing the majority of the exhaust to bypass the mufflers. When you do this the outer tips get crazy black. I use 93 but here our gas has corn squeezins' in it. There is one ethanol free station around but it is 91.
