Agreed - the fourth gens were cool. I have to admit though the Firebird / Trans AM was better looking than the Camaro.

Everybody has there own taste of style. I only like the 1st. And 5th. Generation only. Gm hit the ball out of the park for the 2010 models.

2013 SS
Hi All,
Wanted a 2016 Camaro SS but did not care for the front of new car, nor the lack of trunk, tight seating...so bought a 2013 low miles 2SS and put 2016 Camaro wheels on. Added old school SS emblems to front fenders and front grill and rear trunk. Removed the gold bowties. Added 1969 look with Drake rear 1/4 fins. |

The Gen6 just looks awkward, GM certainly has moved it forward in terms of technology and the overall (smaller) platform offers improvement. I am pleased to own my Gen5 1LE, it delivers in all areas that concern me, especially nailing it on LOOKS and at a significantly lower cost to play

Dave accepting the Peabody Award at the White House state dinner, where he was seated next to the assistant chief of staff to the prime minister of Norway:
“The guy says to me, ‘excuse me. Why are you here?’ And I said, ‘You know what? I think I picked up somebody else’s mail.’ And he said, ‘So you’re here by mistake?’ And I said, ‘Yeah.’ And he said, ‘Oh.'” “So there you go — you get invited to the state dinner. Nobody knows why,” he said. “That’s the sum total of being retired.” Seriously though, I don't understand the bashing that occurs among GM owners. V6 vs V8 bash each other's engines, 2010-13 vs 2014-15 bash each other's taillights & 5th generation vs 6th generation bash each other's models. I'm on a Corvette forum & today they were bashing the Camaro, more specifically the 6th generation, to the point that they genuinely suggested getting a Mustang instead of a Camaro. They're all great vehicles & we each simply purchase what we prefer.

Those Corvette guys are just as bad as everyone else. They're threatened by the fact that the 6th gen SS is almost as quick as they are. However, if you really want to be treated like dirt scum, try driving an early C4 Corvette around town and see how much respect you get. You might as well be driving a Mustang or even some Honda Civic according to them. It's a shame, really. Yes, they are all great vehicles. However, I'm glad I was able to pick a brand new 5th gen when I was able to. The 6th gen offers mind blowing performance, but the styling doesn't quite do it for me especially in comparision to the simply beautiful, gorgeous 5th gen design. I just wish GM would have went more in the direction of retro styled 2nd gen F-body design on the 6th gen. But, it's all good. |
