Wheel + Tire Combo Question

Hey Guys,

I have a question. I am in the market for a wheel and tire combo that I can use for AutoX and the drag. I would drive them to and from the events but they would not be Daily Drivers. I would like them to be as light as possible.

I would like some 19s or 18s x10 if they would fit and I would like them all the same width so I could rotate/switch them around and also to help the understeer. I don't want to give up diameter though.

Unless, there is a suggestion for a set that would be good for both...

Help a no0b out. Please don't flame me, I did some research and it looks like the Nittos have the most people repping them... I don't know about wheels though.

Do you mean you want to a 28.7" tall tire with the new wheels? If so that will be horrible for auto crossing.

I would suggest this set up for auto crossing. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=142387

Whatever you decide, give Nineball a shout. He can hook you up. I went through someone else and regretted it.

Ok so here's another question...

if i don't care about looks at all. I just want the shortest, lightest rims with stickiest tires, only to be used on track days.. what should I get?

The Forgelines are nice but they're a little expensive for rims that will just sit in my garage most of the time. Who's got the best slicks?

If you don't want to spend a boat load of money I would go with my set up. But with 18x9.5 all the way around (wheels are about $1,300). then get some nice short auto cross tires. I don't know much about auto cross tires and which are good, I'm more into drag racing.

This will lower your car about an inch or more depending on what tire you chose.

Ok. I asked Nineball for a quote on some 18x9.5s.

I just need to look for some slicks to fit now. Thanks again!
