I am fully content with the Motor Trend review. There is a few very common threads running through all the reviews. EVERY ONE IS POSITIVE. What more could you ask for? At this price...... what are your options with regards to Global Design Award winning cars? NADA. ZL1 CONGRATS my soon to be housemate! |

Ok, we have seen the ZL1 and Boss go at it. We have seen the ZL1 and the GT-R(pointless comparison), I think we are ready to see the ZL1 vs the 2012 Shelby. Now that the ZL1 is rolling off the line I would like to see more reviews, pics, and comparisons. Give me Give me Give meeeeeeeee

Anybody lining up their new zl1 with a buddy's '12 svtpp yet? I think it'll have to come to private parties doing so because for some reason the mags aren't.
I wanna see the zl1 do awesome because competition betters the breed. Who knows, 5 years from now we might have mid to low 11 second muscle cars to chose from. Look what it's done for the bread/butter models. -315-332hp 6spd auto/manual v6's that run 13's! -416-422hp v8's that run 12's! The competition is great, and best of all is that prices haven't gotten ridiculous. 23k buys a decent v6, 33k buys a decent v8, 55k buys a super car contender. Awesome

Wow, what is up with the 1/4 mile times for the ZL1 in this article? I know it was cold, but didn't Chevy choose this place for testing? Why did we not go to Florida or somewhere that the ZL1 could but up good numbers? |

Cold or not, everyone talks about the GT500 having traction problems, it looks like the ZL1 has traction problems too, I mean what 500+hp wouldn't?

True - however - it seems to me to almost completely ignore the temperature isn't necessarily fair, is it? If so - I guess I'm wrong...

It looks like that might be the case but one thing people have to remeber TIRES have alot to do iwth traction and these tires are horrilbe to launch in these temps.
So is it traction problem or the fact that they did not run the test right. Would you take handling data from slick tires run in the rain? the fact that somebody got a 12.1 out of it says that it does not have such a huge issue as people are making about this artical. it is not like the 3.55 geared gt500 running 12.8 with 2.0+ 60' in every test. these types of tires are awesome in turns and whent he temps are right but they get real dicy at those temps. that fact that every review has it lapping great, stopping great, and comfortable to drive makes me happy. you won't find a review of a GT500 or even some vett's saying that. It is usually wow that was fast but it about ate me alive a few times.

Because they can. I don't think it's entirely pointless to compare two cars with similar weight, 2+2 seating configuration and similar horsepower. Sure the GTR costs $40k more and has a super sophisticated computer controlled AWD platform but it's still interesting to see two beasts strut their stuff on the tarmac. Plus it draws traffic to their site to see this "ridiculous comparison" being flaunted on various message boards, which generates ad revenue for R&T
