Has Chevy Juiced the SS Automatics?

Recently the L99 equiped Camaros have started to post some really quick 1/4 mile times(12's) compared to just a month ago. Is it possible that the engineer's at the plant beefed up the computer programing in response to the poor performance complaints? Maybe they upgraded the programing when they were correcting the regular unleaded performance problem? Can anyone on the inside confirm my theory?

I think people are finally breaking in their engines and they're coming alive. That's all. No engineering wizardry here.

How do you know? One of the one's that broke into the 12's only had 700 miles on it.

That doesn't mean it's not broken in. People break them in differently. *disclaimer, my above post is just what I think. I am in no way associated with General Motors or it's subsidiaries*

Do you know if they indeed fixed the regular unleaded programing problem?

It's called the fuse mod, and cooler weather, that's all.

Fuse mod.... Are you suggesting that GM wouldn't have jumped on and fixed the problem as soon as possible? This would have also been the perfect time to tweek the programing a little. I just think that it is just to much of a coeincidence. Maybe they gave the Transformer Editions a "HOT" set-up!

I turned a 13.25 on one pass before I sent it to get performance shop..i had less than 50 miles on the car. I think what is happening is that some folks are breaking them in hard and some people who know how to go down the 1320 are finally making it to the track

Anything is possible but like I've said before, some engines are just stronger out of the crate than others. If we are only talking a small percentage breaking into the 12's it may be nothing more than a few odd balls. [ In a good way]

Saw a new Chevy magazine (cant remember the name) but they ran a brand new auto SS 13.2@106MPH. Gave it a tune and ran 12.9@108MPH. Then they installed headers, exhaust and a few other things I dont recall and ran 12.2@112MPH. This was with the stock tires too, probably good for another few tenths just by swapping those out. Looks like the LS99 is doing a pretty good job.

13.23 is my fastest time. Before the 'Fuse pull' my best was 14.47 and I expect to get 12s around November.

If you use regular 87 or 89 then you'll be as slow as the V6.
