Why desire for low vin#s

Just curious as to why low vin# (production #) cars are more desirable?

A lot of people see this as an opportunity to get bragging rights, claiming that they were among the first with the car. Also, there's the possibility that this car could be a classic someday. Early VINs could be worth more than later VINs.

While it wasn't an imperative to get a low VIN# and my #3434 isn't necessarily a special number set to me I'm glad I was able to purchase my Camaro with a relatively low VIN#...

The location of the GM logo is different on earlier Camaros, GM moved it so the mud flaps would fit.

Are the GM logos on the ones that were ordered by customers? I haven't seen them on any of the ones at the Dealers.

They stopped putting the GM logo on the vehicle because people are more loyal to the car brand then the manufature.

Vin#58714... No backup sensors, no GM logo here.

(I believe all will eventually have backup sensors ruining thier nice smooth clean bumpers... due to mandates. I could be wrong.)

Correct, it's going to be mandated by law.

I don't get it... why mandate something that people have been able to do just fine since, hmm... the invention of the automobile, or more specifically the invention of [R]everse?

I know i've b*tched about this on other threads, but the government is poking it's mandates in everywhere it wants. Maybe in other countries that's fine, but this is United States of America, and we need to get back to our principals. The government needs to bud it's mandates out of "every joe's" business.

Get backup sensors if you want... I don't want em, and feel lucky I didn't get them, but I shouldn't feel "lucky". Mandates are for necessities... to keep us safe, not for clever options. Doah... ranting again!
