Have you done the fuse pull mod?
By the times your car is running (and the trap speeds) you're most likely running in low octane tune mode.
Your car should be running a lot faster than that.

I picked up some stock 20" rims for some drag radials next year and I am trying to decide between 275's and 305's. What do you guys think? Will the 305's work or should I stick with the 275's??

1320 junkie,
I want to thank you for renewing my interest in drag racing. I had not run since 1969 at richmond dragway. But your devotion to the cause has brought my old ass out of the dust filled bowl my life had become and at 59 years old i jumped up with new enthusiasm and went with my camaro to the dragstrip today and beat up on the young guys, lol. Thank you so much for your contributions to this great site!

same here silverfox...58yrs young and has been 35yrs since my last trip down the 1320. The TrailblazerSS community got my interest renewed last spring with my '07 TBSS,which sent me on the quest for a reliable 12sec DD without a ton of money invested. Now I'm at KCIR bout every week for "fun drags"

Thought I would throw up a video that I had from the track last month. It not my best time but it is the only decent video I had from the night. I may have heated them up a little too much also. I did end up going 12.4 @ 117 later on. Time for some DR's. The motorcycle was missing 4th gear there - lol.

did have a full tank vs less than a 1/4 tank
normally run 91 octane but found a station w/93 octane (fuse pull?)

Will the 305/35/20's fit on stock 9" wide rims? I was under the impression 10" rims were needed - if they'll fit, I may sell my 275/40/20 nitto's that haven't been driven yet and go with bigger.

Also noticed you went with HD half shafts..... reasoning for them or just being safe? (looking to do TVS2300 too)

I have seen a couple people that have put 305's on the stock 9" rims for drags, not recommended but they work. I have just ordered 20x10 Forgelines all around and will be running 305's for my DR's now anyways.

I went with the HD half shafts just to be on the safe side. The stock ones have held up very well but nothing wrong with trying to bulletproof the drive train. I will be moving up to the LPE 650 package sometime in the future and the HD shafts are a piece of mind for me.
