How do you disable ONSTAR in the ZL1?

I know this has been addressed in other forums but am unaware of anybody specifically talking to the ZL1...

Is there a fuse or way to remove the ONSTAR boxes in the ZL1 (I do not want ONSTAR having access to my vehicle)...

If OnStar wants you, there is no way to stop it. If you disable it, like the Terminator it will regenerate itself and track you even harder.

Onstar module is located in the glove box... Remove glove box, then remove 3 screw on top,( under the dash but on top of the glove box), remove panel, then look up, you'll see the module... Disconnect it and no more onstar...

Just so you know and maybe you could give two flying f*#ks, but whatever goes wrong with the car, and I do mean whatever, GM will say you voided the warranty. It may not even be a repair directly related to the OnStar option, but if it comes down to GM covering an expensive repair and you being an unauthorized, untrained person.........just beware.

Bugs me too having the onstar logo's including the red loss of signal onstar that catches my eye sometimes in the middle of the mirror. I dont subscribe, I dont use or need it, when you dont subscribe, it should kill those stupid lights on the mirror. When my warranty is up, Im disconnecting that module.

Drug Dealers and 2. Murderers. That being said; you'll need a hell of a lot more than just a warrant to see what's in my trunk! Just saying......

Most people are unaware that even if an individual does not subscribe to ONSTAR or hit the button, ONSTAR has the ability to covertly monitor the discussions of occupants in the vehicle and collect telemetry on vehicle operations.

ONSTAR is also vulnerable to hacking .....so others, not affiliated with ONSTAR Corporation also have the ability to take control/exploit the system for nepharious activity.

I think it is funny that you get three months of onstar (who cares) and a company I won't name is running comercials of three years free of a similar service. I don't expect lifetime but when you buy a new car 3 months is a joke.

I don't like to bash companies but GM is dropping the ball on onstar and XM. 3 months???? it is retarded plain and simple.

I don't know why people freak on onstar it is a module in the car. disconect the harness no more onstar. If you car was jacked by a stupid thief though it might be nice to have still pluged in.

And if you aren't subscribed it will be useless anyway as they won't provide the information. I have had a vehicle stolen before. The best thing to have to protect against thieves is a good insurance.

Don't pay them when they send the bill, and they will send it.
