Angry Problem with GM

Well I own a 2015 Chevy Camaro 5th Gen with 5790 on it and the car is 5 months old so it been at the dealership for the last week and it chewed off the rear tires off the car the dealership tells me that the vehicles rear alignment is way off but the front is good and they're not going to cover it does anybody have any opinions on this? or some good advice. I am up in year and I have purchased plenty of new cars and I'm flabbergasted by the ignorance of some... it will not let me upload pictures right now will be uploaded as soon as possible I am a little too old to be ripping a car apart. I believe in getting traction and launch the car the rt way. I also don't believe on beating on a car.

ok to all the tires are ripped up on the outside of the tire about the 5000 and that I should have noticed the car was in the dealership for suspension problems earlier and the dealer should have noticed that the tires are going bad on the car plus they are Parelli's there half slick and a half tread I will upload some pictures that I took of the vehicle in GM is the one giving the problem the dealership won't get paid by GM to fix the car. Going back to the wear on the tires it would be the camber that is off.

they should cover the alignment at the most if the tires were chewed up and you put 5k on it you should've noticed it way before then and brought it back immediately but ya pics would help.

That's an excellent example of a run-on sentence. But I'm not sure how the "rear alignment" gets off. But I guess anything can happen. I wish you the best.

I smell more to the story. Something doesn't add up unless the alignment was WAY off, or something protruding into the rear wheel wells and shredding the tires, both of which are things you should have noticed much more than 5k miles ago and reported back to the dealer for. Just my thinking. OP should post pics of the tires.

Do you have pics of the tires ?...if your out of whack the tires will wear unevenly....if they are completely bald.....well thats a burnout problem.

I'd have to see the tires

If one side was heavily worn to one side, implying alignment issues then I'd sympathize, but this sounds like someone was enjoying one too many brake stands on the stock P Zeros which you get crappy life out of those to begin with.

bumper to bumper would of course cover a realignment its the tires they are not going to be able to replace as its a wear item and they think like a dealer....... SO they are trying to not get screwed themselves and you should talk to GM, and get pictures to send scanned in the computer and a alignment should be covered by them and the tries both if they are unevenly worn from only that........

I smell burnt rubber! You would've noticed an alignment issue when driving if it was messing up your tires that badly.

Noticed the OP has one post. No wonder the burnt rubber smells kinda fishy lol

My question is: What 'deal' are you referring to? Your thread title is 'Problem with deal'...???

In my '69 Z/28, I dumped the clutch going about 20mph, and broke the pins on the leaf springs, thus knocking the rear end out of alignment, glad I had added a rear sway bar that stopped it from going further out, resulting in my car dog tracking, which means my hood was pointing to the right, steering wheel was at 11:00, just to make the car go straight!

, these help improve a run on sentence,...

This reminded me of an issue with we had a problem with or '69 at the drag strip. The car would get the feeling that the rear was walking back and forth (left, right, left) The whole way down the strip. We also noticed paint missing on the front inside of the right rear wheel well. Come to find out We had sheared the head of off the spring pin, and the axle was walking on the right spring. Happened more than once!

You should get GM involved. If the tire wear was a result from defective alignment from the factory, then the tires should be covered.

Right now the dealer may be viewing from the perspective that the alignment and tire issue are not factory defects, and may be a 'road hazard' in other words caused by an "event", in which case it would be an insurance issue.
