How loud is a stock cat back with headers and high flow cats?

I'm trying to keep this thing quiet and don't want a lot of noise but I really want headers high flow cats and a tune.

it will be quiet. A friend of mine has slp LT's, high flows to stock cans and it just sounds a little deeper, definitley not loud at all. imho there is no way you would ever mistake it for a cat back.

Not loud enough...but it might be just what you are looking for. You will love it for a week or two, then you will start thinking about getting a catback pretty soon. Once I added my magnaflow catback to my headers, I finally got the sound I was looking for. I wasn't going for loud, I was going for deep and slightly loud, and that's what I got. =)

I can tell you first hand what this will do.. I had Kooks Stepped headers and highflow cats with a tune done about a month ago. I love it.. with the stock exhaust it is a little more agressive when you first start it up. you will know right away that it is not stock.)) but it is not so much so that it will wake the neighbors. and when you step into it. then it will growl a little more then it did. I did not want mine to sound like it was a car at the drag strip. but I wanted a little something more. this was a perfect set up for me. AND it added 51 RWHP.. I would recommend this first. and if you want it to be louder.. you can always add an axel back setup.

just my 2 cents.

If I did it again I would have saved 1300 on the catback and done LT's, high flows and the same cutouts I have right behind the high flows. Then I could be sneaky an quiet then drag strip loud when I want. Even the mild 3" magnaflows will wake up neighbors at 5 am. So...... I say do it and put cutouts in later if you want.

For an LS3 that setup will be a little louder than stock overall, and quite a bit louder at high RPM. No drone. For me I ran that way for a while but did not like the overall sound.

Later I installed the Magnaflow Street axle back and the Magnaflow X Pipe and now it's a little louder than stock, no drone, with a very pleasant, deep sound.
