Whats the correct offset for 22" wheels? /rant on!!!

Alright, i've had a HORRIBLE day trying to put on TWO sets of Lexani's onto my car, neither one of them fit. Lexani themselves said they were shaved to fit my car. The offset the first 2 sets they sent me were +25 +35. Is this the right offset? Becuase the wheels rubbed the calipers bad on the front and the back with this offset.

Afterwards, Lexani said "oh my bad, we sent the wrong offsets" and are now sending me a set of +20 +25 offsets. Are these correct? If not, what in the world could be the problem? I LOVE the wheels, but they are such a pain in the ass to fit, and I don't want to run spacers, or else I would've gotten the status wheels for $1200 dollars cheaper. What gives?

PS, WTF is the "X-factor" on a wheel? They said that was off on the first 2 sets?

/rant off

Thanks,

Adam

edit: wheels are 22x9 and 22x10

Good rant

Needs more swearing though

I'm pretty sure those are the offsets on a 20"

No idea on the 22" though

Offsets and caliper clearance are not the same thing. You can have perfect offsets, but have a wheel spoke or design that doesn't clear the calipers. The wheel manufacturer should have known this if they told you that they would fit...

These wheels have been ran on SEVERAL camaros. I know it can fit, I'm just trying to figure out WHY they don't fit. There's tons of camaros with the LX-15's on them in a staggered setup that are SS's. Just the 2 sets they sent me did NOT clear the calipers, when they said for sure they would.

Do you think caliper clearance would have anything to do with the "x-factor"?

There was a change to the caliper weights a few months into 2010. I believe the new/rollerskate design is taller. Maybe their wheels fit one design and not the other.

i have been going thru this for 2 weeks...sinister ss has your wheels ..the lx15 22x10 has a offset of 25 on rear and are specific for the ss...the 20x10 has a offset of 15mm but lexani shaves them to 20mm for the ss..that is the max..and no the 22,s cannot be shaved anymore than the 25mm...look up sinister, he has some great pics. this is his car with my color combo on his 22,s

they will fit your car, but the factory wheels are 35mm offset , so by using a 25mm offset you just pushed your wheel out 10mm towards fender..that is the main problem with lexani, tire size not centering inside wheel well.. ..i am not sure how wide a tire you can go ..i know you will be awful close to rub after the 285..you could pm sinister after doing search and ask him what size tires he is running and that would be fullproof..he isalso dropped

So here your saying the correct offset is 25 and 20 for the SS? If so, then my new wheels will be correct. The tires are 265/35/22 and 295/30/22. I dont mind if they stick out a tad, I like the steamroller look, I just dont want them WAY out.

yeah you should be good..i am split on the 22 or 20..i also dropped 1 1/2 inch and the 20,s might rub..i gain 5mm going to the 22 and i agree its a better looking wheel , question is how much do i sacrifice with ride quality... i am going to post ride quality with dropped ss with 22,s ..anyone? do you expect wheels soon? like to hear how it feels compared to 20,s.. moved on to the lorenzo as i may be able to get these painted and they have 35mm offset , that i can fit a 305 under fender..
