Ok so I started troubleshooting.....

Checked my Air filter, Checked/cleaned my Throttle body, changed all the plugs just for good measure, did the fuse pull procedure - a few times. Changed fluid in rear differential.....

Still no change......

Had the car aligned, new pads and turned the rotors, wheels balanced again etc.... No help.

I decided, maybe I just have a slow car... maybe my computer had older software version, maybe this maybe that..maybe extra Torque management because of bigger tires.... n0 theories I could really get evidence on.... so I decided to just attack it straight on....and see where I ended up.

Good to note I did compression check it and had 185-180 on all 8 after 5 cranks, and 215 to 220 on all 8 after 7 cranks. Both were done while engine was warm... it sucked too.

Found a good deal on a few used bolt ons:

-Kooks signature series stepped headers 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 Jet Hot coated with Cats.

-ADM Race Intake

-JRE scoop w/RotoFab relocate.

I did a decent write up on the scoop and washer bottle.... it can be seen in another thread, but here are some pics.

I also changed transmission fluid, added Lokar dipstick and a newer "wide mouth" filter....

While I was doing Headers I found this!!!

And OFF she came..... (Oil Cooler/Warmer / ??) Many different opinions on this.... I did notice it would take a little while longer for the car to warm up after I deleted it.... at least it seemed like it did to me.

I also ordered a tune for the Headers, CAI and 91 octane (should have done 93 but I was worried about knock pulling timing causing my issue as well, so I wanted to play it safe and test.)

Took it back to the track with my buddy. He has a 2010 Manual with Cam and Bolt Ons. 478RWHP.

I ran a little better, but honestly, still just barely stock range.... 13.4 ET.

Ultimately it drove me nuts and I ended up getting a local dyno tune... so at least I could know where I stood. 360RWHP thru the Stock Stall A6 with the Dyno tune...so that was pretty close to the range, ideally it would be 370 to 380 range, but since it was 90 degrees during dyno.... I figured it was pretty close.

Went back to the track a 3rd time with the new Tune and felt alot better.......... the time slip speaks for itself.

In fairness, it was 10 degrees cooler ambient temps, I let engine cool between runs with hood open.... also it was tuned on 93 octane. There were also certainly a lot of other things I liked more about the new tune, especially the way it shifts now... WOW.....but having run an acceptable time was a win and that was the point of this, so I could sleep again. Yes I know, it is in the average range....but that I can deal with given I don't race prep the car at all etc.... Peace had returned...... at least for a week or 2.....

OK so since I was back at peace it was time to finish the MyLink, I had held off on this because of some challenges noted below.

- I have a 1SS, the MyLink will fix the bluetooth issue but I still wanted steering wheel controls (Radio/Bluetooth). THe mylink gets reprogrammed and "Opened" if you will, so the first time it is plugged in it will read your body control module (BCM) and program the Mylink to match the coding on your BCM. So do not hook up your Mylink until you have teh BCM flashed if you are changing stuff.

So to add the steering wheel controls you must have them programmed into the BCM by the dealer. My issue was that all the dealers said, no you need to have a Bluetooth for us to install everything for you. **This took 2 weeks and 5 dealerships.....". A side note, the switch will light up once you install it, but it wont work until they program it.

I finally got smart enough to ask for the dealer to "Reprogram my BCM by calling the tech line and getting the code/flash for my VIn BCM updated and then the GM tech just flash the vehicle, I installed the switch already, I need NOTHING installed, I just need your Tech to call the 800# for the Techline get a program to include steering wheel controls and load it to my BCM. ALSO please do not reflash my ECM!!!"*** Very important if you are custom tuned.

YAY, $125 and it all worked flawless.... controls worked for radio, of course no Bluetooth in the car yet.

From here I followed GEN5DIY instructions to the letter to get my MYLINK installed.... and EUREKA!! Everything works perfect.

** I even got a surprise, as you know I added 2SS Leather seats to my car a while back....turns out BOTH seats work and heat up nicely with the MyLink!! I wasn't sure if this would work and boy was that a nice bonus! I do not know if GM tech added anything when doing my BCM program, but I highly doubt it since I never once mentioned anything about heated seats.

So if you made it this far, thank you, the real fun is finally starting to happen....

I had a Maggie'd Manual before but never liked the Cam supercharger setup as I bought it already done and was never convinced it was a proper match. No complaints on the Maggie other than belt slip but I was pushing 12psi on the hit with 6 rib setup. So what do you expect......

I had not planned on doing anything drastic with the car just yet... but as my tuner says, once you see 600rwhp....it is hard not to go back!

I knew I liked the LSA for the OEM finish, good torque on the hit for street brawling because of it being a 1.9L blower. Of course I lost many nights debating Whipple or LSA or Maggie.... but honestly, the limits of my transmission and what the car is used for..... the Whipple was too much. the Maggie didn't have the same bang for the buck so I was sniffing around for a nice LSA kit.

Ran across a great deal, with low miles, and a TON of upgrades included for an EXTREMELY reasonable price..... obviously this was just the start, but a good start it was...

I will have my first post updated with the full mod list, but it is important to note this kit had a 3bolt, BTR Stage 3 PD Blower Cam included.....now it is time to start thinking about LS3 conversion!

Alot of debates, I just truly believe with the Torque on the hit, I am not in need of VVT.....also im fairly confident the 8rib setup I have requires the LS3 timing cover so I was all in...

Oh and for reference, I am doing all the work myself, except tuning.

Here are some pics of the kit I got, more details and more parts later!

Fun write up! I'm very interested to hear what numbers you'll be putting down with your LSA supercharger and BTR Stage 3 cam because that's what I'm saving up to put on my A6 ABM. Are you on Blue Freedom ABM page on Facebook? There's a lot of other Aqua Blue owners on there.

Updating the thread some tonight....... I want to know what numbers I can lay down too!! lol

I believe I had a small leak in Cylinder 7 and 8's valve stem seals. You will notice the intake valve being alot blacker than the others... Compression and Leakdown were both spot on.....so I can't really explain this any other way.

I also noticed when I took the valve cover off Oil does pool up in the rear of the heads over top 7 and 8... just some food for thought for others.

Good place as a reminder, I am going with 3 belt ZL1 accessories 8rib S/C belt.... so everythign is getting removed, had the dealer discharge my A/C system a while back and they are storing it for me for once I get her running again. $50 labor.... good deal.

Cam and Lifters.......boy am I glad to get these giant afm lifters out of there.

Yes I realize you can push them pretty far on the power range, and honestly I will probably still shift around 6200..... but with all 16 new LS7/LS3 style lifters along with the other upgrades....I will feel better about trying higher shift points for sure.
