From reading the description of the video, it seems he was unaware of an early car recall for rerouting the positive battery cable (which if left as is could rub through the insulation and start a fire)... Not sure how early his car was though.... I doubt he got a new one.

Here is another one I just found, not sure if it's from natural causes, or faulty something or another or not, but appears to be?

Confused as to why he would still have been in the car when its obvious it was smoking if the guy recording the video was right.

On a more related and serious note though, it could always be worse. The Ferrari 458's had way more of these incidents, and all right after they went on sale. Plus their price tags are quite a bit heftier than our cars'. I know that doesn't make it seem any better though. That's their car and yours is yours. I can only imagine how terrible it is to see one of the things you care about most burst into flames in front of your eyes.

That wasn't related to the engine compartment. The guy drove/crashed his camaro up onto a parking lot island-thingy and his exhaust caught the grass on fire - which then spread to his camaro.

Yea - it's kind of like watching your soul die. Seeing 3 years worth of love, sweat, and paycheck just burn to the ground in front of you.

Anybody have a clue where the fires are starting in the engine compartment. Looks like the white car may have started in the fuse box.

"According to the report, Jamie Taylor parked her ironically-painted 2012 Inferno Orange Camaro outside, turning off the ignition and going into her apartment. Three hours later she came outside to find fire engines and her Camaro quite literally an inferno."

I found this amusing lol
