Converter or headers?
Alright, my L99 has SW exhaust and a CAI intake. Next two mods on the list is headers and Converter. Which one should I buy 1st? You may ask why not both since both would require a tune/install, but I don't want to buy both at once. Rather get one item now and purchase the next one when I'm ready for the tune, that way I won't have to fork over a lot of money all at once.
Also which cooler would be best (prefer braided lines and AN fittings). And I'm stuck on which headers to buy. I had TSP, Stainless Power, And Stainless Works on the list. but the more research I do the more I'm leaning towards SW, but I would like to save money. I just don't have the patience to get a set of potentially bad headers that may require moving the motor or adjusting this or that so any suggestions on headers are welcome. |

You will really need Headers to get the most out of your engine. Air in air out.
I would get headers 1st and tune it. You will get a good bit of HP gain plus the benefits of a much better shifting tranny. Once you get ready to do a converter, I would buy a Circle D 3600 minimum. Get an ADM trans cooler and never look back. Your next mod will be tires! |

Appreciate that! You think 3600 would be ok for a DD? I was looking at the 3200. I bought 2 back tires from my cousin on here (Warp12LS3). They are Vreds 315, so now i just have to get the front tires! And I have BMR springs, just have to get those put on. So all that together should be awesome!

That's a hard one, both are awesome upgrades! I waited to put my headers on just before I had my converter in and had it all tuned at once. I have a circleD 4c converter, it's a 3600 stall like the others suggested. If you talk to Chris at circleD and tell him what you want out of the converter and he can do just about anything you need. Mine is a 3600rpm stall but I street drive some and I can get going normally with rpms sitting at about 2600rpms for "normal" acceleration. Do it and don't look back!!!

I would grab Headers first and get ur ride tuned. Our Autos are whole different car with a tune. Get that AFM tuned out. As far as headers, i love my TSP. Great quality and easy fitment.
Also Circle D gets my vote in terms of a Converter when you are ready.

If you want Stainless Works but at a lower price point then Stainless Power is the way to go. They are literally Stainless Works knocking themselves off. Same material, same specs, same features, lower price. They are typically what I recommend to even my personal friends.

CD 3200 is a lot of fun. Went 11.84 with mine. You'd run even quicker at the track with a 3600. With the right tuning you will barely notice the 3200.
