? about lowering with springs
I was just about to order H&R Springs (1.4" drop in the front and 1.3" in the rear) I was on H&R's site last night and saw that they have another option with a new set of springs that would drop the car 1.8" front and 1.7" in the rear. I called them today and asked about the new springs and testing that was done on them, they said they were approved for sale. What do you guys think? Is that too low for this car and would the ride suffer?
Thanks |

Might as well just dig a grave now for your stock dampers.

Great is relative.
That's a hell of a drop. The rear I think would look and work great. It will limit some options on the front maybe. If I were gonna go that low, I'd do coilovers. |

Our testing shows you should stick to their 1 inch drop area. That will be a lot less stress on the damper, and give you a better quality ride.

That is an excessive drop with stock springs. When developing our springs we found that more than 1.4" and the car ran out of alignment adjustment. It also puts the OE shocks beyond their damping range so not only will your ride suffer but handling as well. If you need to go lower than 1.4" I would get a set of coil-overs such as the KW Variant 1 or Variant 3's.

I do not think you have posted what you would like your drop to be and your goals. Have you made a decision on this?
thanks mike |

Going that low will not only end your stock dampers but you will be in for one bouncey ride. Pfadt lowering springs are design for a 1-1.25 inch drop specifically because this is the optimum ride height for Camaros running stock dampers, go any lower and things get nasty. If you want more you should look into coil overs.
