I went with scorpions good ratings for snow and deep snow. And the fact that car came with Pirelli.
Can't go wrong with either. Tire Rack 19" rims tires tpms mounted balanced, and shipped to my door $1,500 If I had it to do over again, I would have gone with 18" slightly narrower.

I went with the Scorpions mainly because of their V speed rating vs the Blizzaks H rating.
You never know when you might need to go 100 MPH on a dry winter day--in an emergency only of course. I went with the 20" factory sizes 245 and 275. So far, so good in the snow.

I went with the blizzaks. had them before on other rwd v8 cars, loved them and still do. i'm actually running 245's all the way around, the rears are a little stretched, but they work.

Blizzaks all the way. the scorpions may have a higher speed rating, however with that higher speed rating the rubber is alot harder therefore they are not as flexible in the cold weather. the rubber compound on the blizzaks is alot softer so the tread can flex and create more biting/ traction spots on the tires. My second choice would be Michelin X-ices.

I have Scorpion Ice & Snow. I cannot believe how well they are doing with all of the ice and snow we just got here in the midwest. I can make it up snowy/icy hills no problem. They stop and turn great. I'm really impressed.
I would say my Camaro on winter tires is doing better in the ice and snow that my wifes Camry on all seasons. I am running 245/45/20 front and back. They aren't quite as gummy as the Blizzaks from what I have heard, but considering the roads are cleared pretty well here that is a good compromise. Keeps respectable handling on dry roads.

These are both excellent tires. It almost comes down to what sizes you are going to run. Either one and you will be happy. As you can see by the Posts those with Blizzaks are happy and those with the Scorpions ae also happy.

If you stay with 20's you have to go with scorpions. Blizzak's do not make the same tire for both front and back (staggered sizes). they do make the sizes but are in different tread pattern and compound which will make your car handle worse than stock by leaps and bounds, even on dry roads.

I too wanted the Pirelli's but I would have had to wait after doing research I found the 255/45/20 Blizzak is actually the way you want to go.. for the stock 20s you want Tall and skinny.. the 255 on the rear does not look bad at all.. you can barely notice. Im very satisfied with the Blizzak's

I have scorpions and I hate them. We had a dusting in Boston,Ma yesterday
and I was all over the road. Thought I was gonna crash the whole time. Not a good feeling to have when driving your primary source of transportation. Some people said I may have been in an unlucky area that was coated with ice. They tires do say snow and ice on them We'll see I guess. I'm gonna load the trunk with a couple hundred lbs and see if it helps. |

I have the scorpions. Snow and ice have been no problem at all. I daily drive 60+ miles a day. The only time I've slid is when I wanted too.
