Exclamation * * * Dealers who HONOR the GM Discounts * * *

The MSRP or LESS thread is nice, but I think it's time we have a thread for those dealers willing to HONOR any GM DISCOUNT a customer would qualify for on customer orders.

I'll start.

Nice way to toot your own horn! My dealer says they wouldn't make any money - obviously this isn't true, what comeback can I have to argue with him?

I feel like there are a lot of bogus dealers out here in MA. My dealer emailed me this morning basically telling me he is not going to order my car until I finance through his banks.

I don't want to hit up my credit union for a pre-approval that will expire before my car is delivered, but there is no issue with my financing as he ran my credit at the dealership.

I gave him $1,000 deposit, and filled out a purchase agreement. However, he will not order my car.

The other dealers in the area are charging 2500 for a deposit (non refundable) and definitely do NOT accept any discounts. I feel like I'm running out of options here.

From what Eric has been telling me is that ChevroletClassic in Sugarland honors the GM discounts. I currently have another pre-order and I am going to cancel that one and go to ClassicChevrolet today because of the discounts and alot of more reasons...

Thanks

We honor the GM discount at Garber Chevrolet. We're in the middle of Michigan and know what we are talking about.

That is easy to fix. Just tell him your gonna finance through his bank. Dont sign any paperwork until the car arrives there and you are satisfied with the car. Then when the car arrives give him the check from your credit union. He wont say no. And if he does call his bluff. If he can be dishonest so can you. Not the honorable way to do it.

Now the right thing to do is just tell him no thanks and go buy the car somewhere else.

Sorry for the thread Jack .....but dishonest dealers really burn me up.

TRM0002 - you know I have had a bad experience with Steve. I didn't want to go into all the details here and trash the guy. However, ONE of the things he told me was that he would NOT honor GM discounts.

ps... 3.5 days with no call back to take my deposit... AMAZING!

Scott - great to hear! However, I think there needs to be a defintion on what is a discount and what is an incentive. Alot of followers that have been here for quite a bit know the difference but new folks probably don't.

So safe to assume that a DISCOUNT refers to GMS or Supplier pricing only and does not refer to INCENTIVES like cash back and special APR?

That's rather interesting considering I have in writing GSU if it ends up cheaper than the other deal and my buddy that ordered with me is getting his car at GMS. Not to mention Mac1 here had a GMS deal ready to go with Steve if his dealer wouldn't commit to honoring it. I really am beside myself on why you had these issues with Steve.
