I would honestly wait for the second year of the 6th gen at this point. Save up some more cash. But I can tell you that the 1LE is pretty awesome.

The 5th Gen 1LE is such a cool car, you know I would say that. The end of a Generation and you get the most refined car. You also have a lot of suppliers that make products for our cars that have been used for a number of years. Your future is now, get that permagrin going!

I've found some 1SS 1LE's with Recaros, RS, and NPP, which is pretty much the minimum I would like. Sticker is $42,240, and I can get out the door for a tick over $37,500. That price includes dealer selling it at 37,000 the current GM incentive $1k, GM card earnings of $1500, and the GM private offer of $1000. There is still a "processing" fee of $599 included.

Thoughts on whether I should wait until May to see if the incentives get better with the 6th gen coming out? I doubt I would actually buy a 6th gen as I prefer not to get the first model year, plus I can't imagine there would be much discount off sticker the first year or so. My decision is really down to should I wait it out a little longer or not.

Thanks for the input in advance.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have the same issue basically same car as you but I am at $36,195 after all the discounts. I know the 2016 will be an improvement but deliveries will be 6-8 months off I suspect. At that point dealers will then hold tight to the msrp for several months thereafter. So it looks like atleast a year until deals will be there on a 16.

Buying the 15 with an MSRP of $42,635 for $36,195, should give me a little help on the new car 1st year depreciation but I am still concerned should I decide to upgrade next year how bad will the beating be?

Where are you getting these deals at? My dealer would only sell using the supplier discount and even is trying to deny my 750 off from USAA. LOL

GM employee, USAA, GM Incentive, and dealer discount.

I think if you wait, you may not find another 1LE on a dealer lot that fits your criteria. They are already in a relatively scarce commodity. So if you are not going to buy the 6th gen right away, then I say now's your chance. I think that is already a great deal and I wish I could have gotten the Recaros on mine for that price. But I feel very fortunate to have a 5th gen 1LE (especially a 13). It was an instant classic and I plan on holding on to it for as long as I can. I know when I bought mine back in May of 2013, they told me there was not another 1LE in pretty much the whole of CA!! There was one down in San Diego but it was not what I wanted and the dealer was not responsive, so I ordered it (late).

I'd wait.
6th gen is suppose to land somewhere between the 1LE and ZL1 for performance and thats just the opening salvo from GM. Everyone is going Magride because the technology is incredible and the performance is unreal.

If you are in deep love with the 5th Gen then I suspect you'd have already bought one. It's now only a little over a week and we will have all the details on Gen6 so you could get a faster, better handling, more fuel efficient and more advanced car or not. I Also suspect if its as great as GM is leading on then the prices of our 5th gens will start dropping as people move to the new platform.

This is part of the issue. Here I see standard SS Camaros everywhere, I even see a ZL1 every once in awhile but I have never seen a 1LE. So yes the 6th Gen is tempting but very quickly they may be common place. My example is the new GT they are everywhere now, nothing really unique about them until the GT350 hits the streets.

you're gonna be happy and in love with it no matter what, but this 6th gen has me kinda anxious and scratching my head a little so I would wait.

Decided to wait, but I did test drive one and really enjoyed it (understatement!). Now I'll wait to see the 6th gen... but I think I'll end up getting a 5th. Just waiting for the GM private offers to pop up again!

I hope you can get what you really want. Glad you could test drive one.
