I think he was probably going the same way as you anyways and realized that he was making you nervous and probably thought it was funny to even follow you when you left the road to try and ditch him. Whenever i have a NON-LEO tail i usually use a few crafty lane changes and put a few rolling roadblock drivers between me and them and THEN i go to warp speed for a mile or so. Problem solved!

If it happens again call the cops. I would not hesitate if he is exiting and then reentering the highway. Not just a coincidence there and in this day and age you cannot be too cautious in my opinion.

Would have called the police for sure. Why be followed for that damn long, and not try to do something about it?

Gotta love Florida... People rarely do this shit because many of us pack. I've been carrying in some form or another for 20 years now.

Should have called the cops. Unfortunatley, they aren't very effective or timely here in CA unless their is some sort of ticket writing

I have a 45 minute drive into Anchorage and the last time I went into town, I was tailed almost the whole way ... by a cop ... in an undercover unit. I knew it was a cop because I saw him on the overpass before he pulled onto the highway and spotted the bars on the front of his vehicle.
I think he may have tagged me at ~80 as I was passing someone, so as soon as I saw him move out, I pulled into the right lane and camped there at 65. This guy followed me for almost the entire trip, coming very close multiple times. Other vehicles were passing me left and right, too. I had a pos Celica slow down to about 40 mph, forcing me to pass him at a very careful 65, only to have him pull ahead and cut me off before his exit ... cop did nothing but continue to stick to my tail. As an aside, I get this a lot if I drive in the slow lane. Cars routinely slow down if I'm going 65, presumably to get a kick of out me passing them. Really ruined which is otherwise a very enjoyable drive into town. What infuriated me the most though was that he singled me out, ignoring every other vehicle that sped past me (some easily at 90+, obviously not knowing he was an undercover because you can't tell from behind). When I moved to the middle lane, it got even worse, with vehicles on both sides passing me. He finally passed me and got off the highway at the last exit before town. I sent a hard stare his way as he went by, but he never looked over. I did catch a hint of a clenched jaw, though, but maybe that was wishful thinking. Funny thing is, I have only one speeding ticket in the last 12 years. I rarely speed on the highway, and usually only briefly to pass people. I do my fair share of spirited driving, but only when it is safe, and never on the highway, as it is patrolled incredibly hard by APD and they do not write warnings. |

I've had people catch up to me on the highway, slow down next to me, and start taking pictures of the Camaro with a camera. This has happend to me about 3 or 4 times.
I don't recall someone following me for a long time though.

I've had it happen a few times. I just floor it and leave them in the dust works every time.

Wow, that sounds crazy. My wife Laditee should chime in to this thread this happens to her so much we both started to get a little concerned, but luckily for the most part they were just admirers of her car. Guy's just be careful and safe.
