Tire Question
Anybody know anything about the Nitto Invo? I was browsing for which tires I'd like to get for my camaro, and this one caught my eye. Anybody have experience with it? Pros? Cons?

This was pretty close to what my friends think of them. |

How long did the treads last for your friends? Or are they on the first set still? Thats the only part I'm concerned about - having to replace them often.

You read it here http://www.camaro5.com/forums/images/camarospecs.pdf
The new Camaro is coming with pretty bad a Pirelli's (even on the V6) I can't imagine why you'd change them any time soon.

You might have read it in one of web chats done on the 22nd. Doug Houlihan did not confirm P-Zero tires, just that Pirelli was the supplier for the 20's. ws6w72: i noticed the red car shown in the press photos has Pirelli P-Zero P245/45ZR20 tires- is Pirelli the chosen tire supplier? DougHoulihan: Yes, Perelli is the supplier for the 20s |

The P Zero has a lower treadwear rating and a lower traction rating than the Invo and cost almost twice as much when it comes time to replace them. And unless I'm mistaken, they can't be rotated side to side - only front to back. Which would seriously hamper the ability to rotate my tires.
- Xanthos P.S. - Honestly speaking, the traction rating is the most important part. It rains a LOT here, and I really need the best wet weather tires I can get, seeing how this will be my daily driver. I also plan on swapping the 9 inch rears when I find somebody willing to trade me for their 8 inch fronts. Easier to rotate all around, and the slightly thinner tire will cut through snow more easily.

You can't rotate them front to back either, because the backs are a different size than the fronts.

Why would you want to rotate them? I DON'T want all four wearing out at the same time!

generally speakin, you want to rotate your tires, but its getting more and more common for people to get uni-directional tires. if i wasnt running a staggared stance (17s/18s) id rotate mine front to back, but i run thru rears more often than fronts... burnouts and such ya know

Wasn't really commenting on your situation. I was just adding that if it is true that they cannot be rotated side to side, then they cannot be rotated at all because of the size difference on a stock setup. Like most people I am also aware of the benefits of rotating tires.

In a nutshell,
Nittos. Stick good. Wear fast. IMHO They stuck better and wore longer than my Bridgestone Potenza RE050s |

I have Nitto Neo-Gens on my Cobalt. So far they're wearing better than I expected, though I'm not pushing them that hard. When I do push them, they reward. The many canyon roads near my apartment and freeway cloverleaf ramps are a LOT of fun!
When I get my Camaro I plan to either be carpooling/vanpooling like I am now, or live a lot closer to work, so wear and rotation aren't especially important to me. I have not heard good things about run-flats, and that worries me more.
